************************************** 2010 Swim Coaches Conference Speakers Vancouver – May 8, 2010

Tom Johnson is the current Head Coach of the Vancouver National Swim Centre. He has served on the coaching staff at seven Olympic Games Teams (1984, 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004 and 2008) and numerous World Championships, Pan Pacific Championships, Pan American Games, and World SC Championships. He is currently working directly with National Team members Brent Hayden, Brian Johns, Tanya Hunks, Savannah King, Scott Dickens and Heather MacLean.

Prior to taking over the helm of the National Swim Centre Mr. Johnson was the Director of for the UBC Dolphins and UBC Thunderbirds swim teams and was responsible for building one of the most successful club programs in the world from 1979 until 2006. During this time the won countless national titles and placed 20 swimmers on the past three Olympic teams in 2000, 2004 and 2008.

Tom will speak during the conference about coaching techniques for all four strokes and will draw on his vast coaching experiences to give insight in to what it takes to be a successful coach at all levels.

Eugene Liang is currently working with the UBC Thunderbirds, UBC Dolphins and Canadian National Swim Centre as the Dryland Program Coordinator and lead Massage Therapist. Eugene has travelled with the Canadian National team to various competitions including the 2008 Olympic Games and 2009 World Championships as a member of the support staff.

Eugene is responsible for the design and implementation of dryland programs for some of ’s top athletes including Brent Hayden, Annamay Pierse, Brian Johns, Scott Dickens, Tanya Hunks among others.
