Situation Overview

On 20 August 2019, the Low pressure area East of Virac, Catanduanes has developed into a Tropical Depression and was named “Ineng”. It has generally moved northwestward. “Ineng” has intensified into a severe Tropical Storm on 23 August 2019 and is now outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. Source: DOST-PAGASA

I. Status of Affected Families / Persons A total of 21,682 families or 90,939 persons were affected by the effects of Tropical Storm Ineng in 303 barangays in Regions I, II, III, and CAR (see Table 1).

II. Status of Displaced Families / Persons a. Inside Evacuation Centers A total of 721 families or 2,718 persons took temporarily shelter in 55 evacuation centers in Regions I and III (see Table 2).

b. Outside Evacuation Centers There are 42 families or 138 persons who are currently staying with their relatives and/or friends in Regions I and II (see Table 3).

III. Damaged Houses There are 99 damaged houses; of which, 26 are totally damaged and 73 are partially damaged (see Table 4).

IV. Cost of Assistance A total of ₱6,495,035.50 worth of assistance was provided to the affected families; of which ₱2,463,837.50 from DSWD, ₱3,970,100.00 from LGUs, ₱552.00 from NGOs and ₱60,546.00 from other private partners (see Table 5).

Situational Reports

DSWD-DRMB DATE SITUATIONS / ACTIONS UNDERTAKEN ● The Disaster Response Management Bureau (DRMB) is closely coordinating with the concerned DSWD-Field 04 September 2019 Offices for significant disaster response updates.

DSWD-FO CAR DATE SITUATIONS / ACTIONS UNDERTAKEN 04 September 2019 ● DSWD-FO CAR is continuously coordinating with PSWADT PDO IIs for any report or data from the ground. ● Rapid Emergency Telecommunication Team (RETT) including the International Maritime/ Marine Satellite 27 August 2019 (INMARSAT) equipment were on standby.

DSWD-FO I DATE SITUATIONS / ACTIONS UNDERTAKEN ● DSWD FO I was on BLUE Alert Status ● A total of 2,461 Family Food Packs (FFPs) amounting to Php 885,960.00 were distributed to the affected families of 28 August 2019 the province of Ilocos Norte. ● A total of PhP30,000.00 was provided to the bereaved families and injured persons in Ilocos Norte. ● 1,539 FFPs were for distribution to the affected families in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte. ● The Disaster Response Management Division (DRMD) staff of DSWD-FO I staff were monitoring the possible effects of the current weather condition 25 August 2019 ● Provincial Operations Offices (POOs) were in close coordination with the different Provincial/City/Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils (P/C/MDRRMCs) and Provincial/City/Municipal Social Welfare and Development Offices (P/C/MSWDOs) were monitoring the adverse effect of the weather disturbance.

DSWD-FO II DATE SITUATIONS / ACTIONS UNDERTAKEN 04 September 2019  DSWD-FO II submitted their terminal report.  The DSWD-FO II provided 1,000 FFPs to the affected families. 27 August 2019  The municipality of Piat, Cagayan donated 203 FFPs which was transported through a Navy Vessel arrived in Basco, Batanes. However, it was not yet delivered to ltbayat, Batanes due to a bad weather condition.

DSWD-FO III DATE SITUATIONS / ACTIONS UNDERTAKEN 26 August 2019  DSWD-FO III submitted their terminal report.

DSWD-FO MIMAROPA DATE SITUATIONS / ACTIONS UNDERTAKEN ● DSWD-FO MIMAROPA through the Disaster Response Management Division ensured an on-call and standby duty 23 August 2019 of the R/P/C/M Quick Response Teams for possible activation of Operations Center. ● All members of Rapid Emergency Telecommunications Team were on standby status ready for deployment if

DATE SITUATIONS / ACTIONS UNDERTAKEN needed. ● DSWD-FO MIMAROPA ensured that relief goods were readily available for distribution. ● DSWD-FO MIMAROPA was in close coordination with the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) and RDRRMC MIMAROPA for any warning signal updates in response to the areas that will be affected.

DSWD-FO V DATE SITUATIONS / ACTIONS UNDERTAKEN ● DSWD FO V QRTs were alerted and advised to be prepared for augmentation support needed from the field and/or 24/7 duty at the DRMD Operation Center. 23 August 2019 ● PAT and MAT members in the 6 provinces were on standby and were instructed to coordinate with the P/MDRRMOs for status reports and updates.

DSWD-FO VIII DATE SITUATIONS / ACTIONS UNDERTAKEN ● DSWD-FO VIII was in in close coordination with SWADTs, QRTs and PDOs for any eventualities on the ground. ● All Quick Response Team (QRT) members and Disaster Response Management Division (DRMD) were alerted in 23 August 2019 case augmentation of workforce is needed. ● Regional Resource Operation Section (RROS) were also alerted to ensure the readiness of dispatching the Food and Non-Food commodities whenever needed.

***** The Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Center (DROMIC) of the DSWD-DRMB is continuously monitoring on the effects of “TS Ineng” and closely coordinating with the concerned DSWD-Field Offices for any significant updates.
