Welcome!

Chairman Ian Ashbee #UnitedWeStand

elcome to all the fans that have travelled from Hull to come watch us here at Lincoln. Also a Wbig thank you to Lincoln themselves for allow- ing us to play our home game here. It’s hugely appre- ciated and we hope it’s a good game. Hallam wasn’t our day but we just need to push on and continue as we have all season. If we do that I’m sure we can get somewhere. As we approach the end of the season we are turning our attention to getting matters off the pitch sorted out. Let me assure you there is nothing to worry about or be nervy about. I have succeeded at a lot of things I’ve done in my career and this will be another one. Everyone at the club behind the scenes is working hard to make sure that we have a new home for next season and that whether we are in this division or the Premier next season, that we have a squad capable of battling for the wins and for promotion. We just need to keep our heads up and continue as we can. Curtis, Fozzy and myself are doing all we can regarding on the pitch. The lads are also doing their part as they’ve been fantastic for the whole season. We’ve got a really con- sistent squad here, and some of the talent within it is great. It’s also nice to see a lot of youth coming through the ranks. I hope you all have a safe journey home.

Enjoy the game.

Best Wishes Ian Ashbee Chairman of Hull United AFC

#UnitedWeStand

good afternoon to all of you as we take on Lincoln Moorlands tonight. I trust you’ve all made it up Ahere safely and I hope that you have a safe jour- ney back home. We have six games left to make sure we’re in the play-offs at the end. That continues today as we look to get back to winning ways here after our defeat to Hallam last Saturday. It happens and it just wasn’t our day, but we just need to regroup. As I said on Saturday we are down to the bare bones and with a couple of lads out through injuries and suspensions, it’s going to be an- other tough game. I could only name two substitutes on Saturday and I fear the same may be happening here. Myself and Ash are registered should we be needed, and we could well be involved tonight depending on the numbers I have available today. That’s just how things go and we can be stronger from these sort of occasions. There are a couple of lads who are unlikely to play again this season and that’s Benno and Footy, they’ve both got hamstring issues which may keep them out now. Howev- er we have a bunch of youth players who are impressing me so far. I hope you all enjoy the game and see you there!

All About... Lincoln Moorlands Railway

The club’s predecessors, Lincoln Moorlands F.C. were established in 1989 and joined the Central Midlands League in the same year. After three seasons the club joined the League but five years later they were back in the CML, winning the Pre- mier Division in their first season back. After two seasons in the Supreme Division they were promoted to the Northern Counties East League after finishing in second place in the 2000–01 season, losing the title on goal difference.

In 2003–04 the club got to the third round of the FA Vase and the following season the club won the Wilkinson Sword League Cup, the NCEL’s cup competition for division one clubs.

In the 2006–07 season, Lincoln Moorlands finished in 5th place of the league table, amassing 56 points from their 32 matches. This fell way behind 1st position however, some 26 points back of eventual league winners Parkgate. The club then merged with Lincoln League side Lincoln Railway F.C. and the newly named Lincoln Moorlands Railway was offered the chance to be promoted to the Northern Counties East League Premier Division for the forthcoming 2007–08 season, which they duly accepted. Despite only finishing in 5th place, the promotion came about due to SuttonTown’s resignation from the league due to severe financial problems.

The following season, 2007–08, saw the club also benefit from another club’s misfor- tune. They finished in 19th place. They were not relegated due to South Normanton Athletic folding. The club also struggled for most of the 2008–09 season, but avoided a bottom two finish.

The 2010–11 season saw the club finish in their highest position yet, ending in 6th place. The club also reached the third qualifying round of the FA Cup under the man- agement of Chris Moyses.

The following season was less successful and they finished second from bottom. They were only reprieved following Handsworth leaving the League and the league being increased in size to 22 clubs. The season also saw the club experiencing the worst defeat of their 23-year history, losing 9–0 at Bridlington Town.

In the 2013–14 season they lost 33 out of their last 34 games — including an 11–0 defeat by Pickering Town, a club record — which resulted in relegation to Division One of the Northern Counties East Football League.

The top three sides in Division One all won with Hemsworth Miners Welfare maintaining an eleven point lead at the summit with a 4-0 home victory over Rossington Main, a Nash Connolly hat-trick edging them closer to the title.

Ryan Williams netted for second-placed AFC Mansfield in a 1-0 win at Knaresborough Town and Bottesford Town stay two points further behind in third spot with an identical victory at Westella VIP, Terry Barwick with their goal.

AFC Emley stay fourth after a 1-1 draw at Grimsby Borough whilst Hallam beat Hull United, 1-0, and Shirebrook Town are still sixth despite a 2-0 loss at Eccleshill United, courtesy of early goals from Brett Catley and Mark Trueman.

But, Penistone Church have closed the gap with Shirebrook to three points after their 1-0 win at Winterton Rangers kept them in seventh, Lewis Dickinson with the vital strike after 70 minutes.

Worsbrough Bridge Athletic looked to be on the way to a much-needed victory in their survival bid as they were two goals ahead at Selby Town through Lee Garside and Brad Kerr but Chris Jackson netted twice to share the spoils and leave Wors- brough six points away from safety but with seven games left to play.

And, in the rest of the day’s action, Tom Bennett struck on 83 minutes to claim Hall Road Rangers a 3-2 win at Dronfield Town whilst Glasshoughton Welfare came away from Teversal with a 2-0 victory, courtesy of goals from Josh Morley and Ryan Poskitt. Top Scorers

The club was formed in 2005 as St Andrews Police Club, and were founder members of Division One of the Humber . In 2007–08 the club won Division One, earning promotion to the Premier Division. In 2009 we changed our name to St Andrews, and then to Hull United in 2014, when the club was rebranded, adopting a new nickname (“the Citizens”) and changing their kit colours to black and white, echoing Hull City’s original kit.

Originally based at East Mount Recreation Centre, following their re-branding as Hull United the club moved to Dene Park, located in the village of Dunswell on the northern outskirts of Hull. The ground was originally the home of fellow Northern Counties East League side Hall Road Rangers F.C., who continued to share the ground with United before relocating to Haworth Park ahead of the 2015/16 season. On 15 August 2015 the club renamed the ground the “Breathe for Cameron Stadium” after local child, Cameron Good, who had died due to asthmatic complications during a football match he was involved in.

In January 2015 the club appointed Curtis Woodhouse as manager, replacing chairman Jamie Waltham, with fellow ex-Hull City team-mate Ian Ashbee also joining as his assistant. One of the club’s biggest matches came in March 2015 when I they played Hull City Under-21s in the East Riding Senior Cup, beating them 3-2. Following this win, they progressed to the final where they met Bridlington Town at the KC Stadium with Bridlington eventually winning 4-2. After the club finished as Humber Premier Division runners-up at the end of the 2014–15 season, they were admitted to Division One of the Northern Counties East League. It was announced in June 2015 that assistant manager Ian Ashbee was taking over as club chairman, combining the two roles.

On 30 September 2015 it was revealed founder of the club and former chairman, Jamie Waltham would no longer be working with the club. On 21 October it was revealed that United would be moving to the KC Lightstream Stadium, home of Hull Kingston Rovers. United started life at their new home with a 2-1 victory over Bottesford Town F.C. in the re-arranged fixture from earlier in the season. The game attracted a crowd of 431. On 21st December it was announced that Gary Bradshaw had signed for the club from nearby Scarborough Athletic.

On January 13th 2016 United announced that we left the KC Lightstream Stadium, and will play the remainder of the 2015/16 season away from home. #UnitedWeStand

Proud Sponsors of Last Time Out v Hallam FC (0-1)

Hull United slipped to a narrow 1-0 defeat to Hallam. James Reed’s deflected effort was the difference on a dreary day in Sheffield.

There were four changes for The Citizens as Paul Foot, James Piercy, Harry Fox and Martin Foster coming in for Jack Walters, James Hall, Jamie Richardson and Shane Hill. However boss Curtis Woodhouse could only name two substitutes in Dave Hunter and Regan Horn due to injuries and other commitments keeping out a lot of players.

The game started slowly with both sides trying to get a foothold on it. But after just 12 minutes United were forced into a change as Tom Bennett came off with a hamstring problem, replaced by Horn.

Midway through the first half Hallam took the lead, and it was arguably deserved. The ball was loose on the edge of the area and Reed teed up his shot and a deflection caught Phil Dobson out as the ball ricocheted into the top right corner.

United kept knocking on the door after going behind, but Hallam were having the better of the first half. A shot from distance looked like heading in until Dobson produced a great save. Moments later The Citizens almost were back as Foster floated in a cross which was cleared by the defence.

United were pressuring throughout the second half and Gary Bradshaw was well in space and looked like running one on one, however he was brought down by the last man. The referee somehow only booked the defender when it could be argued it was a red card.

Substitute Horn looked lively throughout, and was often given freedom to roam down the left wing. He also nearly equalized as he took a shot from distance which forced the ‘keeper into a great save. It wasn’t his first effort and it showed the confidence the young winger had.

When Foot went down injured, the only replacement left was Hunter, a goalkeeper, however Woodhouse brought him on and played him up front. He did well when called upon, as the boss looked to throw the kitchen sink at Hallam.

United had one more chance before the end as the defenders missed the ball and Bradshaw slid his shot just wide. But it just wasn’t to be for United who left empty handed. #UnitedWeStand The Team Phil DOBSON Unlucky to be caught out by the deflection for the goal. Produced some great saves.

Tom GIBLIN Proved to be solid again, moved all over the defence, he adapted well.

Kealan COXON Some minor issues but overall a good showing from the youngster. A good addition to the squad.

Paul FOOT (Dave Hunter, 78) Came off with a hamstring injury. Very strong otherwise. Hunter did what was asked of him on the pitch.

James PIERCY A good replacement for Jack Walters. Played well, closed out the wingers and cleared at vital times.

Harry FOX Was strong on the wings, put in some good balls and helped deal with the defending.

Nicky MCNAMARA Got booked but was in control throughout, was unlucky with some of his chances.

Tom BENNETT (Regan Horn,12) Came off early with a hamstring injury. Horn performed very well and was unlucky not to score with a lovely long shot.

Martin FOSTER The consistent Foster delivered as usual. Crossed in very well and on another day could have been on the scoresheet.

Chris COY Built on his debut with another decent game. Linked up with Bradshaw well.

Gary BRADSHAW Was so unfortunate not to score in the second half. Brought down when in on goal. Interview With The Boss

Following Hull United’s 1-0 loss to Hallam, Curtis Woodhouse spoke to Aaron Irwin regarding the game.

AI: So obviously we’ve lost, would you say it wasn’t good enough?

CW: “Well I just think you look at us we’re down to our bare bones. I can’t ask for anymore off anyone, everyone tried their best and gave everything they could. But, we’re running out of players.”

AI: We only had two players on the bench, we saw Dave Hunter come on has that ever happened to you before? Had to bring the keeper on?

CW: “Nope, never happened before. There’s a few things this season that have never happened to me before at Hull United so that’s another one that goes on the list.”

AI: So turn our attention to the actual ‘keeper, Dobbo, he had a really good game today I think.

CW: “Yeah, he’s been excellent all season Dobbo. Someone you can rely on week in week out, and is always top drawer.”

AI: When Bradders was in on goal, how didn’t the defender get a red card? #UnitedWeStand

CW: “I thought it was a red I don’t like to see anyone get sent off but he was the last man. He’s brought him down so I think the letter of the law is he’s got to go.”

AI: There seems to be an air of frustration at the minute. Nothing seems to be going right. Is it a bit annoying?

CW: “No, what happens off the field doesn’t affect me personally. The lads have got no excuse really, it doesn’t affect them. Like I say it’s not really an issue to me as a manager. For me that’s other peoples’ responsibility and other peoples’ jobs. My job is what happens on a Saturday, on a Tuesday, and so far this season we’ve been excellent.”

AI: Would you say the weather on the pitch, the pitch itself on a slant, and the rain did that affect us?

CW: “This is the Northern Counties, all the pitches are poor, and the surface wasn’t actually that bad. Obviously the hill makes it difficult but it was the same for both sides really. I think on chances we should have probably got something out of the game but that’s story of the season I think.”

AI: Benno and Footy came off with injuries, are they alright?

CW: “Benno’s done his hamstring and Footy’s done his hamstring, so looks like they’ll be out for the season.”

AI: So that means we’re really depleted for Tuesday, are we going to have enough players to put out?

CW: “Well we will be struggling to put out an 11 on Tuesday most definitely yeah. So I think we can still register players I think you might see a debut from myself and Ash. I think we’re both going to be involved Tuesday yeah.”

AI: That’s alright then who’d manage the team then?

CW: “I’m not sure, I might have to leave it to, (laughs) I haven’t got a clue. I have not got a clue.” The Youth Squads

Hull United Under-16’s

Thank you to another local company www. zorbfootballhull.co.uk (BubbHull Ball) for Sponsoring our U16’s this season. It’s greatly appreciated and has been a fantastic season for the team. #UnitedWeStand

Good afternoon to everyone and welcome to Lincoln as we take on the basement side in the division.

I was looking forward to going to Selby on Tuesday, however after seeing the photos of the pitch I wasn’t surprised to hear it’d been postponed.

However here we are and it’s a great place to hopefully bounce back. We can’t be complacent against this side as they’ve come close in recent weeks to taking wins off some very good sides.

The fixtures are going to pile up soon, with our final three fixtures coming in a week. That’s going to be a busy one for us fans as we continue to provide amazing support for the team.

It’s great to see so many familiar faces at each and every game, the staff appreciate your time and devotion to this club, and here’s hoping we can provide three points for us come tonight.

United, United We Stand.
