THURSDAY 29 APRIL – THE OFFICIAL OPENING OF THE NEW GP CIRCUIT. SAVE THE DATE

The official opening of the new Grand Prix circuit, including a ceremony will take place up at the ‘arrowhead’, on the morning of 29 April. All BRDC Members are invited to attend, so please make a note of the date and full details will be sent in a separate invitation when all elements of the planning have been finalised.

BRDC CHARITY LUNCH – FRIDAY 23 APRIL 2010

BRDC Members, , , , , Johnny Mowlem, Guy Smith, Charlie Hollings, Rob Barff, Sean Edwards, , , Marino Franchitti, Stuart Hall, Marc Hynes & BRDC Club Secretary, Stuart Pringle will be running the Virgin London Marathon in less than 4 weeks in support of CLIC Sargent, the children’s cancer and leukaemia charity.

A Charity Lunch is taking place on Friday 23 April at Plaisterers’ Hall, London to help raise funds towards the £50,000 which the runners have pledged to raise. BBC’s F1 presenter Jake Humphrey has very kindly agreed to compare the afternoon and interview some stunning motor sport guests, the vast majority of whom are Members have generously given their time and support of the charity. There will be a charity auction at the end of the afternoon and we have some amazing prizes available together with a silent auction: 3 Night Stay for 2 people at Kasbah Tamadot, Sir Richard Branson’s Moroccan Retreat Motorsport Original Commission by renowned motorsport artist Andrew Kilson A 30 minute aerobatic flight with “World Land Speed Record Holder” Wing Commander Andy Green and many more..... This will be a fantastic afternoon and certainly a great way to entertain guests in the company of motor sport greats, such as Damon Hill, Johnny Herbert, Eddie Jordan to name but a few, whilst at the same time, raising money!

BRDC ANNOUNCE 2010 SUPERSTARS

The Club is pleased to announce the full driver line up for the 2010 SuperStars Programme.

Now in its third year, the announcement underlines the ongoing success of the scheme which was launched to support British drivers develop their professional motor sport careers.

The SuperStars scheme continues to be run by Tim Harvey, who commented “We have an ever growing pool of drivers so it is always difficult to make our selection, but after careful consideration we feel we have come to the right decision. The racing season is not quite underway but our enhanced SuperStars programme continues and we look forward to working with our new and existing recruits and wish them all a fantastic season”.

FIA FORMULA 2 - 17/18 APRIL 2010

Silverstone is hosting its first FIA championship in the form of MSVR’s Formula 2 in a fortnight’s time. If you have not already pencilled this into your diary, please do consider coming to Silverstone to see this excellent championship in action. In addition to a very competitive F2 field, there is a full programme of support races including 40 entries in the GT Cup.

SOUTHER N REGIONAL EVENT – SATURDAY 8 MAY 2010

BRDC Members are welcome to a private visit to Val and the late, Chris Neville-Parry’s garden, which houses the only National Collection of Clematis Montana Group, on Saturday 8 May, 2010. Val is happy for Members to bring a picnic lunch to eat in the garden (plenty of seats and tables) from 12 noon onwards. There will be hot and cold drinks and homemade cakes and biscuits available during the afternoon.
