1.2 Brief description of the nature of project

The project has been proposed by M/s Barnwal Brick Clin owned by Smt. Renu Barnwal w/o Sh. Ramakant Barnwal as per agreement who is resident of Katra Raja Himmat Singh in Tehsil Sadar of District Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh and is responsible for every governmental procedures for Environmental Clearance. The Project is proposed for mining of minor mineral Brick Earth (Soil) within 37,888 m3capacity in 5Years from the non-forested, non-arable, rugged land within the mining area.

Need of the project and its importance to the country and or the region

Brick Earth (Soil) will be used as the raw material for the processing of Bricks which are required for various infrastructural projects going around the region. Abundant resource is available and excavation under permissible limits from the non-forested and non-arable land is the most preferable land use.

1.3 Demand supply gap

Bricks as the building blocks for various construction projects are in high demand these days because of the ongoing rapid infrastructural development all around the state of Uttar Pradesh. Current excavation project is particularly for meeting the requirement of regional demands seeking soil for processing of bricks. Moreover; the current demand is 60% as high as the current supply.

2.0 Export possibility

No there is no room for export.

Domestic / Export Markets: Domestic demands of Bricksare much higher than what is available today.

Employment Generation (Direct and Indirect) due to project: Manual mining will require 27 local heads to be employed.

3.0 Project description 3.1 Type of project including interlinked and interdependent projects, if any

The project involves brick earth (soil) excavation and it is not interlinked with any existing project.

3.2 Location of project

The proposed project site located Gata No. 375, 374, 412, 492, 542, 518, 291 located in Village Gohani of Tehsil Sadar in District Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh. The excavation site can be approached by following NH-931 upto village- saraiyan turinig west direction. The major highway links to a major road that eventually leads to the village- Gohani. The excavation site is located about 0.50 km in south from the Village itself.. (i)Land form, land use and land ownership

The land of Pratapgarh district is generally plane except some regions around the Gomti River which drains almost the whole district. It may be called an agrarian area as agriculture is the main occupation of the people. The proposed site is non-arable, undulated (rugged) and non-forested. This land is good for mining of minor minerals like soil. Such excavations up to a depth of 1.6meter are required for the restoration fertility to the land as it exposes underneath fertile soil. (ii) Land ownership The project site is on Agreement. (iii)Topography along with map and Soil type : The land of Pratapgarh district is generally plane except some regions around the Gomti River which drains almost the whole district. It may be called an agrarian area as agriculture is the main occupation of the people. Pratapgarh district has a wet and dry climate with average temperatures ranging between 23oC to 28 °C. Pratapgarh experiencesthree distinct seasons: summer, monsoon and a mild autumn. Typical summer months are from March to May, with maximum temperatures ranging from 36 to 44 °C. The rainy season in the districts falls between June and September and July being the wettest month of the year. Winter starts from November. The daytime temperature hovers around 22 °C while night temperature is below 08 °C during December and January, often dropping to 2 to 3 °C. Availability of Minerals: The district forms a part of the Gangetic plain which is of recent origin according to geological chronology and revela ordinary gangetic alluvium.
