INTRODUCTION The Government of Tamil Nadu is implementing several schemes for Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes, Denotified Communities and Minorities to help them advance socially, economically and educationally to be on par with other developed communities. The details of schemes for the development of Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes, Denotified Communities and Minorities, the criteria to avail the benefits, the officials to be contacted are all given in this Citizen’s Charter. As per 2011 census, the total population of Tamil Nadu is 7,21,38,958. Two thirds of this population belongs to Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes and Denotified Communities. 95% of Muslim minorities are included in the list of Backward Class Muslim. Among Christian Minorities nearly 80% are included in the list of Backward Classes and Most Backward Classes. 2. RESERVATION Reservation plays a major role in the advancement of Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes and Denotified communities. It improves their economic and educational status by enabling them to secure appointments in services under the State Government and admission in educational institutions. The percentage of reservation for various communities is as follows:- 1 Backward Classes 26.5% 2 Backward Class Muslims 3.5 % 3 Most Backward Classes / Denotified Communities 20 % 4 Scheduled Castes 18% 5 Scheduled Tribes 1% TOTAL 69% 1 The respective Taluk head quarters Deputy Tahsildars are the competent authority to issue community certificates to Backward Classes, Backward Class Muslims, Most Backward Classes and Denotified Communities. The list of Backward Classes, Backward Class Muslims, Most Backward Classes and Denotified Communities are furnished in the Appendix I. 3. KALLAR RECLAMATION SCHOOLS For the educational advancement of the Denotified communities, particularly the Piramalai Kallar Community, 295 Government Kallar Reclamation Schools are functioning under the control of this Department in Madurai, Theni and Dindigul Districts. The details of Kallar Reclamation Schools and strength of students as of 2019-20, are as follows: Sl. At present the English medium classes are extended upto 5th standard and 784 children are studying in the current academic year. They were subsequently continued in UKG class so as to complete their Kindergarten (KG) education. 2 The Details of the Schools with KG Classes Sl. The demand of water is increasing day by day. So, groundwater resources play a vital role for additional demand by farmers and Industries and domestic usage leads to rapid development of groundwater. About 63% of available groundwater resources are now being used. However, the development is not uniform all over the State, and in certain districts of Tamil Nadu, intensive groundwater development had led to declining water levels, increasing trend of Over Exploited and Critical Firkas, saline water intrusion, etc. ADMINISTRATIVE SET UP The total geographical area of the Dindigul distict is6, 26,664 hectares, which is about 4.82 percent of the total geographical area of Tamil Nadu state.Thedistrict, is well connected by roads and railway lines with other towns within and outside Tamil Nadu.This district comprising 359 villages has been divided into 7 Taluks, 14 Blocks and 40 Firkas.

    RAMANATHAPURAM DISTRICT EXTRACT OF RULE 4(1) (B) OF THE RIGHT TO INFORMATION ACT- 2005 i) The particulars of its organization, functions and duties :- Organisation :- The Ramanathapuram Police district was created on 11.03.1985 as per G.O.Ms.No.57. It has the jurisdiction of Ramanathapuram Revenue district. It has 6 police sub – divisions viz. Ramanathapuram, Paramakudi, Kamuthi, Rameswaram, Keelakarai and Thiruvadanai. The district is under the charge of the Superintendent of Police assisted by Additional Superintendent of Police, Crime and Prohibition and Deputy Superintendents in charge of 6 sub – divisions and the special units District Crime branch, District Crime Records Bureau and Prohibition. The 6 sub – divisions have been divided into 12 circles which are under the charge of inspectors of Police, helped in some cases by Sub – Inspectors. Circles are sub - divided into Police stations under the charge of Sub – Inspectors who are assisted by an appropriate number of police officers in the rank of Head Constable, Grade I Police constable and Grade II Police constable. The historical Rock Fort of this district was constructed by the famous Nayak King Muthukrishnappa Nayakker, It is located between 10005“ North 100 09” latitude and 77030” and 78020” East longitute, and its Mean Sea Level is (+) 280.11M This district is bound by Erode, Tirupur, Karur and Trichy districts on the North, by Sivaganga and Tiruchi District on the East, by Madurai district on the South and by Theni and Coimbatore Districts and Kerala State on the West.
