To order the Only Believe song book from the SPOKEN WORD PUBLICATIONS, write to: Spoken Word Publications P.O. Box 888 Jeffersonville, Indiana, U..S.A. 47130 Special Notice This electronic duplication of the Song Book has been put together by the Grand Rapids Tabernacle for the benefit of brothers and sisters around the world who want to replace a worn song book or simply desire to have extra copies. FOREWARD The first place, if you want Scripture, the people are supposed to come to the house of God for one purpose, that is, to worship, to sing songs, and to worship God. That’s the way God expects it. QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS, January 3, 1954, paragraph 111. There’s something about those old-fashioned songs, the old-time hymns. I’d rather have them than all these new worldly songs put in, that is in Christian churches. HEBREWS, CHAPTER SIX, September 8, 1957, paragraph 449. I tell you, I really like singing. DOOR TO THE HEART, November 25, 1959. Oh, my! Don’t you feel good? Think, friends, this is Pentecost, worship. This is Pentecost. Let’s clap our hands and sing it.

  • Psalm 100 Sermon: Beginning with Moses and All the Prophets Reading
Call to worship – Psalm 100 Sermon: Beginning with Moses and all the Prophets Reading: Luke 24: 13- 35 Jesus seeking you. Jesus walking beside you. Jesus revealing Himself to you. Your response. Please hold these four thoughts in your mind as we meet this morning. My heart leapt when I saw that the lectionary reading for this morning was the passage where Luke describes the two on the road to Emmaus. It is a passage that has been important to me and one that is rich in teaching. Many of you will be familiar with the passage, but I want us to look at what is described. It is the morning of the resurrection when the woman who had taken spices they had prepared went to the tomb which they found to be empty. Two men appeared to the woman and say, “He is not here; He has risen!” The women are reminded that Jesus had said that he would be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified, but on the third day would be raised again. And we read then that the women told these things to the Eleven and to all the others. After this, Cleopas and another left and were walking to the village called Emmaus. This was about 11 km from Jerusalem. We read that they were talking about everything that had happened when Jesus himself came up and walked with them. We read that they were kept from recognising him. Jesus then asks them, “What are you discussing together as you walk along?” They actually stop walking and Cleopas asks, “Are you only a visitor to Jerusalem and do not know the things that have happened there in these days?” Jesus answers, “What things?”.

  • Emily Jane Brontë - Poems
Classic Poetry Series Emily Jane Brontë - poems - Publication Date: 2012 Publisher: Poemhunter.com - The World's Poetry Archive Emily Jane Brontë(30 July 1818 – 19 December 1848) Emily Brontë was an English novelist and poet, best remembered for her only novel, Wuthering Heights, now considered a classic of English literature. Emily was the third eldest of the four surviving Brontë siblings, between the youngest Anne and her brother Branwell. She published under the pen name Ellis Bell. Biography Emily Brontë was born on 30 July 1818 in Thornton, near Bradford in Yorkshire, to Maria Branwell and Patrick Brontë. She was the younger sister of Charlotte Brontë and the fifth of six children. In 1824, the family moved to Haworth, where Emily's father was perpetual curate, and it was in these surroundings that their literary gifts flourished. Early Life and Education After the death of their mother in 1821, when Emily was three years old, the older sisters Maria, Elizabeth and Charlotte were sent to the Clergy Daughters' School at Cowan Bridge, where they encountered abuse and privations later described by Charlotte in Jane Eyre. Emily joined the school for a brief period. When a typhus epidemic swept the school, Maria and Elizabeth caught it. Maria, who may actually have had tuberculosis, was sent home, where she died. Emily was subsequently removed from the school along with Charlotte and Elizabeth. Elizabeth died soon after their return home. The three remaining sisters and their brother Patrick Branwell were thereafter educated at home by their father and aunt Elizabeth Branwell, their mother's sister.

My songs are the door to every dream I've ever had and every success I've ever achieved," says Dolly Parton of her incredible career, which has spanned nearly five decades and is showing no signs of slowing down. An internationally renowned superstar, the iconic and irrepressible Parton has contributed countless treasures to the world of music entertainment, penning classic songs such as "Jolene," "Coat of Many Colors," and her mega-hit "I Will Always Love You." With 1977's crossover hit "Here You Come Again," she successfully erased the line between country and pop music without noticeably altering either her music or her image. "I'm not leaving country," she said at the time, "I'm just taking it with me." Making her film debut in the 1980 hit comedy “9 to 5,” Parton earned rave reviews for her performance and an Oscar nomination for writing the title tune, along with her second and third Grammy Awards. Roles in “Steel Magnolias,” “Best Little Whorehouse in Texas,” “Rhinestone,” and “Straight Talk” followed, along with two network television series, made for television movies, network and HBO specials, and guest-starring roles in series television. In 2006, Parton earned her second Oscar nomination for "Travelin' Thru," which she wrote for the film “Transamerica.” Dolly Parton's remarkable life began very humbly. Born January 19, 1946 on a farm in Sevier County, Tennessee, Parton is the fourth of twelve children. Her parents, Robert Lee and Avie Lee Parton struggled to make ends meet in the impoverished East Tennessee hills.
