Group Corporate Affairs For Immediate Release One-North Eden 85% Sold During Launch Weekend Singapore, 25 April 2021 – As at 6pm today, One-North Eden saw 140 units (or nearly 85%) of the project’s 165 units snapped up during its virtual launch weekend, April 24 and 25. Developed by TID Pte Ltd, One-North Eden is the first residential launch in the one-north hub in 14 years. Take-up rate was strong across all unit types with the selling price working out to about S$1,800 to S$2,250 per square foot (psf). One-bedroom plus study and two-bedroom units proved the most popular and were quickly sold out at 10am on the first day of launch. Unit sizes range from 517 square feet (sq ft) for a one-bedroom with study to 1,410 sq ft for the largest four-bedroom premium unit. More than 80% of the buyers are Singaporeans while the remaining 20% comprise Permanent Residents and foreigners from the United Kingdom, China, Malaysia, France, India and the United States. Mr Yoichi Kaga, Managing Director of TID Pte. Ltd said, “The good response is an indication of the pent-up demand in one-north due to limited private residential options in this high-growth area. Many homebuyers are drawn to One-North Eden’s strategic location and enjoy the convenience of living near their workplace, while several families are attracted to the prime local and international schools located within 1km of the project.” Mr Kaga added, “Based on overall feedback, our buyers were impressed with the project’s spacious lobby, and particularly the size and functionality of our units as most of them accommodated extra space for a study room, one of the project’s most attractive selling points. -

Introduction Singapore was the first country in the region to officially articulate an aim to attract medical tourists and promote the export of health services overseas. In 2003, the Healthcare Services Working Group (HSWG) of the Economic Review Committee recommended that Singapore attract one million foreign patients by 2012. To achieve this goal, the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), along with the Economic Development Board (EDB) and International Enterprise (IE) Singapore, launched SingaporeMedicine in 2003, a multi-agency initiative that aims to promote, develop and maintain Singapore as an international medical hub. However, in recent years, the push for medical tourism has been muted. Sectiononeof this paper summarizes the Singapore context for a past medical tourism hub policy, followed by an overview of the health system, with policy implications for the system should medical tourism become a major growth area. Methodology is then described in section two, followed by the findings of the SWOT analysis conducted among stakeholders in the health services sector. 111 The objective of this paper is to: 1. Undertake a SWOT analysis for the health services sector in Singapore. 2. Undertake an analysis of policies/regulatory/institutional support for the health services sector in Singapore. 3. Develop a profiling of firms which are considered key players for the health services industry. -

1 TRANSCRIPT OF A PRESS CONFERENCE GIVEN BY THE PRIME MINISTER OF SINGAPORE, MR. LEE KUAN YEW, AT BROADCASTING HOUSE, SINGAPORE, AT 1200 HOURS ON MONDAY 9TH AUGUST, 1965. Question: Mr. Prime Minister, after these momentous pronouncements, what most of us of the foreign press would be interested to learn would be your attitude towards Indonesia, particularly in the context of Indonesian confrontation, and how you view to conduct relations with Indonesia in the future as an independent, sovereign nation. Mr. Lee: I would like to phrase it most carefully because this is a delicate matter. But I think I can express my attitude in this way: We want to be friends with Indonesia. We have always wanted to be friends with Indonesia. We would like to settle any difficulties and differences with Indonesia. But we must survive. We have a right to survive. And, to survive, we must be sure that we cannot be just overrun. You know, invaded by armies or knocked out by rockets, if they have rockets -- which they have, ground-to-air. I'm not sure whether they lky\1965\lky0809b.doc 2 have ground-to-ground missiles. And, what I think is also important is we want, in spite of all that has happened -- which I think were largely ideological differences between us and the former Central Government, between us and the Alliance Government -- we want to-operate with them, on the most fair and equal basis. The emphasis is co-operate. We need them to survive. Our water supply comes from Johore. Our trade, 20-odd per cent -- over 20 per cent; I think about 24 per cent -- with Malaya, and about 4 to 5 per cent with Sabah and Sarawak. -

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF MALAYA The Institute of Asian Economic Affairs, MaraJ'a Shingap5ru no Keizai Kaihatsu (Economic Development in the Federation of Malaya and the State of Singapore), Tokyo, 1962, 348 pp. This book is the result of a joint study conducted by the follovving research group headed by Hiroshi Matsuo under the auspices of the Institute of Asian Economic Affairs : Shigeo Shimizu~awa, Assistant Professor of Meiji University (Chapter I) ; Hiroshi Matsuo, Professor of Meiji Utriversify (Chapters 11 & IV) ; Kikuo Yamaoka, Professor of Chiba University (Chapter 111) ; Yasuaki Yoshimura, chief of the research department of the~ C;verseas Mineral Resources Development Company (Chapter V) ; and Yasushi Oiwa, Yawata lron and Steel Co., Ltd. (Chapter VI). This comprehensive study examines the problems of economic develop- ment of the Federation of Malaya and the State pf Singapore based on data obtained through on-the-spot suiveys ofthe two countries. The study analyses the economic structure of the two countries, and other matters related to their economic development. This study does not purport to be the kind of theoretical analysis which makes use of the models and hypotheses of modern economics. The writers have discussed the following points : recognition of the peculiar characteristics of Malayan politics, economy and society ; study - of the historical process of economic developinent ; outline and character- istics of economic development plan ; examination of problems during the process of economic development ; role of foreign investments ; and status and future prospects of development 6f mineral resources. Economic development in any nation should be built on political, economic and social foundations.
