On the edge of the Antarctic Circle, a steamship approaches a desolate island. On board is a young man, poised to take the post of weather observer, to live in soli- tude at the end of the earth.

But on shore he fi nds no trace of the man whom he has been sent to replace, just a deranged castaway who has witnessed a horror he refuses to name. For the next twelve months his entire world will consist of a deserted cabin, trees, rocks, silence and the surrounding sea.

David Slade (born September 26, 1969) is a Bri- tish fi lm director who began his career making music videos. His work includes videos for ar- tists such as Aphex Twin, Rob Dougan, System of a Down, Stone Temple Pilots, Tori Amos, and Muse. His fi rst feature fi lm “Hard Candy” was released in 2005 by Lions Gate Entertainment who pur- chased the independent movie at the Sundance Film Festival. In 2007, his second feature “30 Days of Night” proved to be a commercial success grossing more than $75M Worldwide. David Slade is the chosen director for the third installment of the Twighlight Saga, “Eclipse”, scheduled for a summer 2010 release.
