(xl) MARRIAGE ALLOWANCE Subject to detailed conditions laid down in Regulation*, all married officers are eligible for Marriage Allowance, payable continuously at the following rates:— (i) Married Officers aged 25 and over: t. d. If the officer has been promoted from the Lower Deck or from the ranks, he may receive the rate of Marriage Allowance (excluding the Allotment from his own pay) in issue on the day before the date of promotion if this Is more than 56i. a week. W.R.N.S. officers who are widows with children are eligible for marriage allowance at the same rate* and under the same conditions as widower naval officers. Supplementary Marriage Allotcance.—Subject to detailed conditions laid down in Regulations, all marrted officers, who were serving as officers on 30th June, 1946, and who were, on that date, in receipt of marriage allowance (including children's allowance) of 6*. 0d. a day or more at Schedule A rates, are eligible to receive a Supplementary Marriage Allowance at the following daily rates:— a. d. (xlU) RATION ALLOWANCE Ration Allowance is payablo under certain conditions to officer* entitled to service victualling who cannot be so victualled. The current rate is 3s. 4d. a day in the British Isles; abroad the rate varies according to station.

xlv) LONDON ALLOWANCE Officer* whose place of dutv is within ten miles of Charing Cross and who are not provided with accommo­ dation at public expense, will be entitled to London Allowance at the following rates as a supplement to lodging allowance or marriage allowance:— Rank or Relative Rank Rear-Admiral and above ......
