AFCA DIVISION II COACHES’ POLL SEES VERY LITTLE CHANGE AFTER FOURTH WEEK OF ACTION

WACO, TEX.– The top eight teams in the AFCA Division II Coaches’ Top 25 Poll remained the same, but with losses to then-No. 9 Grand Valley State (Mich.) and then-No. 10 Carson-Newman (Tenn.), the rest of the Top 25 moved up a few spots. Valdosta State (Ga.) still sits No. 1 with 30 first-place votes, followed by Minnesota State-Mankato, Northwest Missouri State, West Texas A&M and Colorado State-Pueblo rounding out the top five. Ohio Dominican enters the AFCA Division II Coaches’ Top 25 for the first time at No. 23 after the Panthers handed Grand Valley State (Mich.) a 57-14 loss, dropping the Lakers to No. 25 this week. Carson-Newman (Tenn.) also dropped in the poll to No. 20 after its close loss to conference rival Catawba (N.C.), 25-22. There is only one Top 25 matchup this week as No. 11 Minnesota-Duluth plays host to No. 18 St. Cloud State (Minn.) in a key Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference North Division game.
