THE 2014 MAGIC TRIANGLE SERIES PRESENTS :

The Marty Ehrlich Large Ensemble

The Magic Triangle Jazz Series, produced by WMUA-91.1FM and the Fine Arts Center at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, concludes its 25th season on Thursday, April 17 , at Bezanson Recital Hall , at 8:30p with a performance by The Marty Ehrlich Large Ensemble .

Since his first recording with the in 1972, Marty Ehrlich has emerged as one of the most thoughtful, varied and prolific instrumentalists and composers in creative music. He studied with , Joe Maineri and Ran Blake at the New England Conservatory of Music, and in 1978 moved to New York. Since then, he has worked with many of the most ground-breaking musicians of our time, including , , , and Yusef Lateef.

Ehrlich has also duetted with , led hisDark Woods Ensemble, and recorded as a leader for Cecma, Sound Aspects, Muse, New World, and most often Enja.
