RESOLUTION NO. 2017-024

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUNCANVILLE, TEXAS, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE DUNCANVILLE SISTER CITY COMMISSION; AND, PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

WHEREAS, the City of Duncanville has enjoyed a continued sister-city relationship with the municipality of Monasterolo di Savigliano, located in the Province of Cuneo in the region of Piedmont, Italy, since 1997; and

WHEREAS, the City of Duncanville and Monasterolo di Savigliano continue to enjoy exchanges and visits, the last being in 2016 when Mayor Marco Cavaglia and his wife visited the City of Duncanville; and

WHEREAS, the City Council passed Resolution 2017-008, establishing the Duncanville Sister City Commission, and setting forth the mission, and structure of the Commission; and

WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the members of the Duncanville Sister City Commission are appointed based on qualification and interest, by the entire City Council, foregoing any requirement of residency within a specific Councilmember district or residency within the city limits of Duncanville.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUNCANVILLE, TEXAS, THAT:

SECTION 1. The Duncanville City Council hereby appoints the following members to the Duncanville Sister City Commission: Fred Ciarochi; Sandy Ciarochi; David L. Green; Patrick Harvey; Kay Kamm; Julie Norris; Glenn Repp.

SECTION 2. The members so named, will serve without term limit, unless removed by majority vote of the City Council.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage. DULY RESOLVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Duncanville, Texas, on the 2nd day of May, 2017.
