Meeting open: 1:25 PM. Pledge and moment of silence.

Secretary’s Report: Motion to accept as printed. 2nd, passed, with corrections on Legislative report.

Treasurer’s Report: Read and approved. Arlington motioned to send the MRF $100 for a membership and $200 extra as a donation. 2nd by Denton, discussion, passed.

Membership Report: 396 current members. Discussion about Life Memberships and how they are distributed. To easy to get one. A motion was made by Arlington to not give Life Memberships for signing most members to a chapter. Give that member 3 years free membership. 2nd by Denton, more discussion, passed. The contest for Most members signed will be extended through Oct. 1, 2013.

Legislative Report: Things discussed: Our bill about the Motorcycle Safety Fund will be taken to Sen. Nichols and Sen. Pitts to look over. We hope one or both will introduce as a bill. Legislative weekend is January 27-28.

Sunday at the VFW in Austin will have presentations of the T.A.L.E.S. program at 10am, TMRAII at 1pm and COC at 4pm.

Also discussed, the E-15 gas issue.

AMSEP Report: Except for printing, the coloring book is done. We are trying to find a reasonable printer for the coloring books for this program. Discussion. Will get a few to have at Legislative Day weekend. Arlington working on getting flash drives for this program.

Security: We are secure.

Newsletter: It was suggested that the newsletter be set up as a general one to be also the chapter newsletter and State newsletter combined. Discussion. No decision.

Products: None.

Chapter Reports: Arlington: Had a Swap meet booth in Arlington on Jan. 30. Signed up one member. Worked Big Toy parking lots. As stated earlier, flash drives for AMSEP about done. We have filled all officer positions. Our Bikers Ball will be March 2, 2013. We will have a 50/50 each month will proceeds going to the AMSEP program. Working on a fund raiser for the MRF, hopefully in February. Always working on membership.

Denton: We had a great Christmas Party. The Toy Run was a success. What was better was delivering the toys to the families that needed them. We have all new officers except the coordinator. Biker Appreciation Day will be in April. Our meetings have been moved to the VFW in Denton at 2pm the 4th Sunday of each month. 909 Sunset Dr., Denton.

Golden Triangle: Absent.

NET: Some of us attended the regional NCOM convention in . Did our support of the kids shelter in Kaufman. We had our Christmas party. In April, the Terrell Jubilee will happen. TMRA has a deal April 12-14 in Comanche. We will conduct 4 Red Cross ceremonies in Canton soon.

Texoma: We have all new officers except for Ski, coordinator. Looking at a machine to make our own banners, t’s and other stuff. The toy run and Christmas party we a success. Had a booth at the Dallas swap meet and will have another in Lewisville on the 22nd of Jan.

Old Business: Legislative Day discussed. Need a banner. We have one to carry in front of our group when we approach the capitol.

Talked about ordering some T’s for Legislative Day. We will split parking costs with TMRAII.

Talked about having coffee and donuts at the VFW Sunday morning starting at 8am until gone.

Will have maps and other information in folders for the hall walkers on Monday.

The by-laws cannot be voted on until we a certified 501c4. Paperwork on that will be filled and we should be able to vote on that in March.

New Business: Arlington has magnetic officer pins.

Motion to have these pins made for the State officers by Legislative Day. 2nd, discussion, passed.

Mid-South-M.I.L.E. basket to be made by Texoma for this year.

Because the Northern Party will no longer be held at Bells, we will use a camping site north of Decatur for the new Texas ABATE State Rally, the 3rd weekend in May.

The plan for future State board meetings is as follows: March 2, Arlington, May, the State Rally in Decatur, Golden Triangle, in Port Arthur on 7-13 This is where we will open nominations for 2014 officers.

NET will host the meeting 9-7-13 where we will close nominations for State officers.

And last but not least, Texoma will host on 11, 2. We will vote for the new officers then.

Open Forum: It was discussed the possibility of an ABATE cruise to Mexico if anyone would like. It would be 5 days out of Galveston Jan. 13-19, 2014 to two ports in Mexico at a cost beginning at $376 per person.

Discussed a clarification on the new and renew contest. An idea for membership was to give a single membership to someone as a birthday gift.

Texoma challenges all other chapters to try and double the membership this year.

Discussion about Texoma bus to Austin.

50/50 was drawn with $10.50 to the winner, Christi, who donated it back to ABATE.
