Did you know? || Monitoring your children on YouTube YouTube is one of the most popular sites for children, and anyone can upload and share videos about anything. YouTube can showcase creativity and foster learning and connection for children, but it is also home to a variety of dangerous and inappropriate content. It is the user’s responsibility to filter the content he or she sees, and often, children don’t have the ability or knowledge to filter their viewing before it’s too late. Talk to your children about what they want to watch, and what they are and are not allowed to do while on YouTube. I can’t believe that I have been here at St. John Eudes for 10 months already! The time has flown by. In spite of the pandemic, I have felt welcomed and at home here. It has been a joy ministering with Fr. Ethan and the wonderful staff and volunteers of our parish. I am grateful for the friendliness I have encountered here, in spite of the masks and . I also appreciate all of the prayers and kind words I received after the loss of my parents, since moving here. For all of us, it has been a tough 15 months. However, I know that what has sustained us through this difficult time, is our faith, and the love and presence of Jesus in our lives. Without Him, we couldn’t have weathered this “pandemic storm”. Jesus has given us the comfort, strength, patience and hope that we needed. This Easter Season has been especially joyful, as we are experiencing new life, both as individuals and as a society. The blessing of the vaccines and the decline in Covid cases, is allowing our country and our Church to open up. It has been a joy to be able to receive our R.C.I.A. candidates into the Catholic Church, to celebrate First Communions and Confirmations. We are now looking forward to the reopening of our parish ministries, as the year progresses. Each one of us has a role to play in the spreading of the Good News of the Gospel. This is where the power of the Holy Spirit comes in. As we celebrate Pentecost this weekend, we all need to pray that the Holy Spirit gives us the gifts and abilities we need to live out our Catholic Faith more fully. As modern-day disciples of Jesus, we are called to share this Faith with others, especially those who have fallen away from the practice of their Faith or who have not yet experienced the power of Jesus Christ in their lives. As we move forward as a parish community, let us continue to pray for one another and to support one another.

Sincerely in Christ, Fr. Dave.

It is the Spirit of God who draws us, gathering us together, Sunday after Sunday. It is the Spirit of God who called loudly to the inspired writers of the scriptures and who continues to whisper to us, revealing ever-new facets of God’s word, granting insight just when we need it. It is by the Spirit’s power that, when Christ’s words are uttered by the priest, A PRAYER TO THE SPIRIT the bread and wine become the Body and Blood of Christ. And it is surely the Holy Spirit, Spirit who inspires us—that is, breathes in who sent Christ Jesus us—when, sent forth from the assembly, we seek ways to serve our brothers and to carry the Good news to the poor, sisters, to allow the gospel to come to life we pray to you: in the world.
