Q. I am looking to buy an apartment in a high-rise complex. What should I do before I buy?

A. We strongly advise that all contracts are subject to a building inspection report, to check that the building is structurally sound. Recently, some apartment buildings in Melbourne have had serious leakage issues. Potentially, these are the responsibility of the owner to fix - at their own cost. Purchasers of high-rise apartments should get their lawyer to check the owners’ corporations documentation and the minutes of any recent meetings. This will ensure that you are fully appraised of any recent decisions or circumstances, which may result in additional chargers being levied, or may affect the future use of the apartment or common property.

Warren Joyce leads training session

Melbourne City Football Club and Active Melbourne City Sports (AMCS) collaborated to host a complimentary training session on August 15 for 30 Docklands’ workers who play soccer weekly during their lunch time.

The 75-minute training session, led by head coach Warren Joyce and assistant coach , took place at the Docklands Sports Courts. The weekly games hosted were part of AMCS’s activity program to get inner-city workers active during their lunch breaks. Mr Joyce said it was great to help develop and improve Docklands-based football players with AMCS. “These players love the game so much as to play during their lunch breaks, so to be able to partner with AMCS and impart some of the knowledge we have at City was a no- brainer,” Mr Joyce said. “Hopefully we see a few of the players throughout the season at AAMI Park.” AMCS trainees were given the opportunity to meet and take photographs with both Mr Joyce and Mr Kisnorbo after their Above: The group which took part in the special training session as well as a chance to win a season session with Melbourne City key personnel in Docklands. membership.
