Section 5. Scenario (40 points)

In the following scenarios, several violations of spiritual codes and restraints have been committed and/or inauspicious karma are bound to the soul. Explain the violations and/or kind of Karma bound in each for the following scenarios.

1. Raj decided to watch his favorite TV show last night and ended up falling asleep shortly thereafter. He did not finish his project due for his homework the following day at school. He knew that he would fail the class since this counted for a large portion of his grade. So he asked his older brother Neal to write a sick note and forge their mom's signature on the note. 2. Kantilal's wife was doing Paushadh during Chaumäsi Chaudas. Kantilal decided to head to the movies. Meanwhile, his neighbor Bhogilal came over to borrow the lawn mower. Kantilal told Bhogilal to join him at the movies instead, and mow the lawn in the evening after returning. 3. Damini is window shopping and notices a pair of diamond earrings that she just has to have. She inquiries about the price but it is out of her budget. There is a sign posted for 30% discount with senior citizen proof. So, she asks her aged neighbor Shantamasi to join her at the shop to buy that for her. 4. Aarti is ready to go to temple for Päthashälä for class and to volunteer for fundraising drive. Her friend Krupa invites her for brunch instead. She says, “Aarti, in today’s time, you are wasting your time and money with that religious stuff.”
