ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION ONBOARD AMBASSADOR DON BOCCHI Don Bocchi was born in 1946 in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Beaver Falls High School, the alma mater of legendary NFL quarterback Joe Namath. With a master’s degree in education from the University of Wisconsin, Bocchi joined Arizona State University in 1985 as the assistant football coach and recently completed his thirty-second year of service with the school. In his current position as a senior associate athletic director, his primary duties include oversight of twelve varsity head coaches and their programs: wrestling, women’s basketball, indoor and beach volleyball, men’s and women’s tennis, soccer, baseball, men’s and women’s golf, cross country, and track and field. CELEBRITY LECTURER RICK REILLY Rick Reilly has been voted National Sportswriter of the Year eleven times. He was at Sports Illustrated for twenty-two years and ESPN for eight more before retiring from journalism in 2016 and beginning a career as a screenwriter and novelist. He’s known for his breezy, hilarious, and yet often emotional writing style, the kind that graced the back page of Sports Illustrated for years, not to mention ESPN’s and SportsCenter.
