Information subject to change without notice. HOW TO GET THERE? ACCESS BY PLANE The easiest way to Dubrovnik from all parts of Europe during the tourist season is to fly. There are regular flights to Zagreb from almost every international airport in Europe. TRANSFERS FROM AIRPORT TO DYC BASE DUBROVNIK We can organize airport transfers to the marina and back on request. ACCESS BY CAR Via Zagreb: Use the highway to travel from Zagreb to Dubrovnik. It’s 3.5 hours highway drive from Zagreb to Split (A1 Zagreb-Split highway) and then around 3.5 hours, depending on the traffic, from Split to Dubrovnik driving the non-motorway "Adriatic Magistral" road. If you chose to take the old sight-seeing road from Zagreb to Dubrovnik, it’ll take you 9.5 hours. To avoid Split, turn left after Sinj, towards Trilj, and then turn right towards Cist Provo. Turn right towards Šestanovac and exit on the "Adriatic Magistral" road, just after Gornja Brela, which will take you to Dubrovnik. Via Rijeka: If you’re coming from Rijeka, drive along the coastal "Adriatic Magistral" road and take the highway for Split and follow directions described above. ACCESS BY BUS One of the cheapest ways to arrive in Dubrovnik is to travel by bus and Croatia has a well- developed national transport network of bus lines that reaches even the smallest of villages on the coast. The routes connect Dubrovnik to large cities in Croatia and run several times a day. Regular international bus lines connect Croatia to Austria, Italy, Hungary, France, Germany, Slovakia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and many more. BY FERRY Many people take the ferry to Dubrovnik, which is probably more comfortable and more affordable than the bus. The largest Croatian company is Jadrolinija, which has lines that hop from Rijeka to Zadar to Split, Hvar and then Dubrovnik throughout the year. There is also a good link to Italian ports (Bari and Ancona) if you want to cross over from Italy to Dubrovnik. Travel from Dubrovnik to ACI Marina You can easily travel from Dubrovnik to ACI Marina by bus, numbers 1A or 1B, and get off at Komolac (just after the INA gas pump). If you are driving, follow the signs for Gruz Harbour and then, after passing under the bridge, turn left at the first crossing. Travel straight ahead until you are in Komolac. The first road on the left is the entrance to the ACI Marina Dubrovnik. Information subject to change without notice.     © Lonely Planet Publications 216 Split & Central Dalmatia Central Dalmatia is the most action-packed, sight-rich and diverse part of Croatia, with dozens of castles, fascinating islands, spectacular beaches, dramatic mountains, quiet ports and an emerg- ing culinary scene, not to mention Split’s Diocletian Palace and medieval Trogir (both Unesco World Heritage sites). In short, this part of Croatia will grip even the most picky visitor. The region stretches from Trogir in the northwest to Ploče in the southeast. Split is its largest city and a hub for bus and boat connections along the Adriatic coast. The rugged DALMATIA DALMATIA 1500m-high Dinaric Range provides the dramatic background to the region. SPLIT & CENTRAL SPLIT & CENTRAL Diocletian’s Palace is a sight like no other (a Roman ruin and the living soul of Split) and it would be a cardinal Dalmatian sin to miss out on the sights, bars, restaurants and general buzz inside it. The Roman ruins in Solin are altogether a more quiet, pensive affair, while Trogir is a tranquil city that’s preserved its fantastic medieval sculpture and architecture. Then there is Hvar Town, the region’s most popular destination, richly ornamented with Renais- sance architecture, good food, a fun atmosphere and tourists – who are in turn ornamented with deep tans, big jewels and shiny yachts. Let’s not forget the coastline: you can choose from the slender and seductive Zlatni Rat on Brač, wonderful beaches in Brela on the Makarska Riviera, secluded coves on Brač, Šolta and Vis, or gorgeous (and nudie) beaches on the Pakleni Islands off Hvar.

    Ante Šalinović prof. sociologije (Zagreb) Ante Šalinović je rođen 1978. godine u Mostaru. Osnovnu i srednju školu pohađa u Vrgorcu, a potom upisuje Filozofski fakultet u Zagrebu, Odsjek za sociologiju na kojem diplomira 2005. godine. Od 2012. pohađa poslijediplomski stručni studij „Poslovno upravljanje – MBA“ na Ekonomskom fakultetu u Zagrebu. 2009. godine je u organizaciji Hrvatskog olimpijskog odbora završio školovanje za „Upravljanje olimpijskim sportskim organizacijama“. Predavač je na Hrvatskim studijima, Sveučilišta u Zagrebu. Gost-predavač na većem broju poslovnih škola i učilišta (Vern, Poslovna akademija, Experta, Filaks), na edukacijama novinara (ICEJ Opatija) te na većem broju međunarodnih stručnih konferencija (SEMPL, FESTO, IDEJA X, SOF, SEEMAR, SPORTO). Koautor je 4 znanstvena i stručna rada. Aktivno se služi engleskim jezikom. Poslovnu karijeru je počeo obavljajući honorarne poslove u obiteljskoj tvrtki da bi također honorarno 2000. godine počeo raditi u agenciji Puls nakon čega odlazi u agenciju Mediana Fides gdje radi kao voditelj projekata. 2002. i 2003. je voditelj istraživanja u agenciji Stratego nakon čega se zapošljava u agenciji Puls gdje je 6 godina bio voditelj odjela za istraživanje medija. Od 2009. do 2015. je regionalni direktor medijskih istraživanja agencije Ipsos Puls, a od ove godine postaje Ispos Adria Connect Director čime je odgovoran za upravljanje i poslovanje agencije u 8 država regije te je ujedno koordinator medijskih istraživanja za zemlje centralne i istočne Europe te Afrike (cca 30 država). Bio je kandidat na izborima za Nadzorni odbor Hajduka 2011. godine. Anthony Marinov dipl.ing. stroj (Zagreb) Anthony Marinov je rođen 1974. godine. Osnovnu školu je dijelom pohađao u Primoštenu, a dijelom u Splitu gdje je završio i srednjoškolsko obrazovanje u MIOC-u, smjer prirodoslovno-matematički tehničar.

    Office of International Education Country Report Croatia and Romania Highlights Romanian scholars consistently collaborate with UGA faculty to produce joint academic output, with main areas of co-publication including Inorganic and Nuclear Chemistry. From 2007-2017, these collabora- tions resulted in 90 co-publications. The Higher Education Initiative for Southeastern Europe, a collabo- ration between UGA’s Institute of Higher Education and the Center for Advanced Studies in Southeast Europe at the University of Rijeka in Croa- tia, is designed to assist in developing high quality teaching among partner in- stitutions and to stimulate excellence in institutional management and governance through appropriate degree programs and continuing professional education seminars. UGA’s partnership with Babeş Bolyai university in Cluj-Napoca, Romania spans many fields, including Journalism and Chemistry. This latter area of collaboration has resulted in numerous publications in leading chemical journals. Poslovnika Gradskog vijeća Grada Rijeke („Službene novine Primorsko-goranske županije" broj 29/09, 14/13 i 22/13-ispr. i „Službene novine Grada Rijeke" broj 10/17, 14/18 i 2/19-pročišćeni tekst) i članka 10. stavka 1. Odluke o javnim priznanjima Grada Rijeke („Službene novine Primorsko-goranske županije“ broj 14/13) Odbor za javna priznanja Grada Rijeke podnosi Gradskom vijeću Grada Rijeke prijedloge za dodjelu javnih priznanja Grada Rijeke u 2019. godini na razmatranje i usvajanje. Predsjednik Odbora Andrej Poropat, v.r. 1 I. UVOD Odlukom o javnim priznanjima Grada Rijeke ("Službene novine Primorsko-goranske županije" broj 14/13) propisano je da su javna priznanja Grada Rijeke koja se dodjeljuju svake godine: 1. Nagrada Grada Rijeke za životno djelo koja se dodjeljuje domaćoj fizičkoj osobi za cjelokupno postignuće na unapređivanju znanosti, gospodarstva, zdravstva i socijalne skrbi, sporta, umjetnosti, kulture, odgoja i obrazovanja i drugih oblika društvenog života, koje predstavlja izuzetan doprinos razvitku i ugledu Grada Rijeke. 2. Zlatna plaketa "Grb Grada Rijeke" koja se dodjeljuje domaćoj ili stranoj, fizičkoj ili pravnoj osobi za dugogodišnji rad i doprinos u razvoju i promicanju ugleda i interesa Grada Rijeke u područjima gospodarstva, znanosti, kulture, zdravstva, i socijalne skrbi, odgoja i obrazovanja, sporta, tehničke kulture, ravnopravnosti spolova, promicanja ljudskih prava te u drugim područjima društvenog života.

Summary Today the main problems of the islands are the poor demographic picture caused KEY WORDS by depopulation, low birth rate, prevalence of the elderly population, and relatively island’s population low economic activities. In that reason, the paper presents the influence of the traffic transport connection between connections between Croatian’s islands and mainland on the demographic picture islands and mainland of the islands. The aim of this paper is to conduct systematic and scientifically island’s economy research of influence various factors on the demographic picture of the islands in sustainable development order to insure the sustainable development of the islands and the retention of the inhabitants on the islands. This paper analyzes the population of Croatian’s islands according to the latest census and the category is correlated with the most prominent limiting factor of development, which is the traffic connection between islands and mainland. The research shows that the improvement of traffic connection and increased density of traffic network between islands and mainland does not have a direct impact on the number of island’s population, but it has a positive impact on all economic and social activities, by creating the prerequisites for sustainable development of the islands and raising the quality of life on islands, as evidenced by the growth of the island’s population on bridged islands and drop population in small islands and islands unrelated to bridges.
