First and foremost, we salute the family of George Floyd for your determination and perseverance in the face of injustice. We also salute your patience and dignity during this unnecessary, traumatic and public event. May your hearts begin to find some peace.

To Darnella Frazier, who filmed the George Floyd video, we salute your bravery and your accountability in serving as a Samaritan for #JusticeforGeorge. You are proof that the efforts of one person can expose and help to dismantle broken, unfair systems that have plagued our country for far too long.

To the jurors, we salute your civic engagement. Thank you for your time and participation in the justice system, as they were both necessary for a fair trial.

To our Cuney Homes residents, many of whom were the neighbors and friends of George Floyd, we salute your benevolence. Your unity is working to strengthen our community while our hearts are under repair.

Our efforts must not stop now. Our quest for justice and equity is far from complete. Here’s how you can stay involved to drive necessary change: • Vote whenever you have the opportunity.
