For the first time in the FIBA accredited tournament we had the team of Real Madrid, who became the 2018 champion without defeat. The host of the tournament – BUBA Bas- ketball – lost only to Real Madrid and after four victories in the other games took second place. The third place was reserved for the tra- ditionally strong Romanians by Dan Dacian and the rest of the stops were taken respectively by Foca Kragujevac, MZT Skopje and Caserta. In 2018, all games were played in a larger arena because of the rising interest in the tour- nament. In Triaditsa hall, during the four days of the tournament, there were hundreds of chil- dren, coaches and other spectators. The young basketball players were award- ed by the national team and Levski Lukoil play- ers – Hristo Zahariev and Bozhidar Avramov, who later gave many autographs for their young fans in Triaditsa. MVP of BUBA Cup 2018 is Gonsales Penya from Real Madrid. Standings: Team MVPs: 1. Real Madrid Real – Pascual Cosar 2. BUBA Basketball BUBA – Kaloyan Mavrov 3. Dan Dacian Dan Dacian – Danis Tudor 4. ЗА МОМЧЕТА ЗА зала „ХристоБотев“ БАСКЕТБОЛ БАСКЕТБОЛ ТУРНИР ПО U-12 IV Plate: cyan magenta yellow black he 9th edition of BUBA Cup was an extraordinary experience for ev- Teryone – players, coaches and ev- eryone in the gym. It was the first time that the competition welcomed an Italian team - Caserta. The whole tournament was a tribute to the late founder of the tour- nament Emanuil Bozhkov who passed away in June. From now on the compe- tition will carry his name also - BUBA Cup Emanuil Bozhkov. The start of the tournament was given by one of Bozhkov‘s closest friends and Bulgarian respected politi- cian Vili Lilkov who‘s speech was very touching. Day 1 offered the beginning of exciting contests with amazing win for Foka over Caserta with 57-54, as well as convincing win for the Serbian team over CSKA. Caserta won against BUBA Bas- ket, Dan Dacian prevailed MZT Skopje and the Macedonians fought CSKA for the victory. In Day 2, Foka stamped their first place with wins over MZT and Dan Da- cian. Romanians and Caserta played superb game – 49-44 and Italians then won against CSKA. BUBA then recorded first victory over CSKA. Day 3 had a great deal of smiles and no one wanted the tournament to end. Foka remained unbeaten after the game with BUBA, Dan Dacian left CSKA without a win, and again Caserta was in the most intriguing match, but lost against MZT after 55-58. The winners received the cup from Bulgarian Basketball Federation chairman Georgi Glushkov who had only the best words for the organiza- tion and all the participants. Levski Men‘s team leaders Aleks Simeonov, Evgeni Hadzhirusev and ris- ing stars Ivan Alipiev and Nikolay Lekov – also BUBA Cup participants before – joined the closing ceremony. Nenad Filipovic from the team of Foka was chosen MVP of BUBA Cup 2017, with the award presented by Manuel Markov. BUBA Basket chairman Borislav Hadzhirusev had the closing speech with everyone applauding him for his hard work throughout these years of BUBA Cup. he sixth issue of the International Basketball Tournament “Buba Cup” Tfor children up to 12 years of age took place from Sept. 19 – 21, 2014 at “Rumen Peichev” hall in Sofia, Bulgaria. There were six teams playing, three of which from Bulgaria – Buba Basketball as hosts, and the constant rival teams Levski and CSKA. The latter (“red”) team participated for the first time at the prestigious youth tournament. The international guests were teams from Serbia – Foka, Romania – Dan Dacian, and Macedonia – Angeli. All three clubs have been participating so far in the annual traditional tourna- ment “Buba Cup”. The Serbian team is in constant cooperation with the organizers hosting the event BC Buba Basketball. It became a tradition throughout the year to organize several tournaments and control games between the teams from the two countries with participants of various age groups. Georgi Glushkov, the president of the Bul- garian Basketball Federation, greeted the teams at the opening ceremony of the tournament and wished them success in the competition. He also commended the “Buba Cup” organizers for their work and efforts that resulted in conducting this prestigious annual event for youth in Bul- garia for six years in a row. His best wishes for fair play and successful tournament resonated with the participants.

This association was created 82 years ago by visionaries and developed by indi- viduals unified by a common mission. Of course, the world has changed over time and to disre- gard the current economy would be fatal. This is undoubtedly the major challenge for the coming years. Addressing it will require men and women who, without losing sight of our founding princi- ples, can also provide new solutions. The required solidarity in a world defined by inequalities is the vital spark igniting FIBA’s humanist work.

  • The Economic and Legal Aspects of Transfers of Players
KEA – CDES: Study on the economic and legal aspects of transfers of players The Economic and Legal Aspects of Transfers of Players JANUARY 2013 KEA – CDES: Study on the economic and legal aspects of transfers of players KEA – CDES: Study on the economic and legal aspects of transfers of players KEA – CDES: Study on the economic and legal aspects of transfers of players EXECUTIVE SUMMARY I. Transfer of Players in Sport Professional transfers are regulated by a complex set of regulations established by sports governing bodies. Rules are subject to a large degree of standardisation at international level through international sports institutions such as FIFA for football and FIBA for basketball. The justification for international standardisation stems from the ambition to make competition rules universal in order to promote international sporting exchanges. The extensive autonomy granted to sporting bodies for the self-regulation of their activities is a fundamental characteristic of sport as compared to other economic and social activities. The transfer environment is subject to different layers of rules and regulations. The study aims to document the different layers of rules and to consider their interactions. Transfer rules in sport are a derogation from normal employment practices in the following ways: i) They limit the freedom of players to move from one employer to another and set restrictive conditions for such moves. Contracts may be terminated by either party without consequences (such as sporting sanctions) only if justified by “just cause”1; ii) They establish a system of transfer fees between clubs in order to prevent a total ban on players’ mobility.
