The M Street Journal Radio's Journal of Record NEW YORK NASHVILLE July 2, 1997 Vol The M Street Journal Radio's Journal of Record NEW YORK NASHVILLE July 2, 1997 Vol. 14 No. 26 0.2% SOLUTION. Many blessings on this $1 billion deal: First the FCC blesses, then the Reverend Jesse Jackson pronounces his own blessings on the two settlement agreements that make possible the historic $1,075,000,000 deal between Viacom, Chancellor Broadcasting and Evergreen Media. One agreement -- a package totaling $2 million -- covers Washington, D.C. The other (and smaller) agreement covers the New York City piece of the merger. The Commission is careful to note that neither Jackson's Rainbow Coalition nor the New York -based group will benefit financially from the settlements, beyond reimbursement of legal fees. There should be plenty of changes flowing from last week's closings by Chancellor and Evergreen, both in ownership and formats. See page 9 of this week's M Street Journal for details on the settlements. *1 WITH A BULLET?. New mid -year Duncan group revenue charts award Evergreen /Chancellor, Clear Channel, Capstar and Citadel bullets for notable chart performance. Suddenly Westinghouse /CBS has a rival, as Chancellor /Evergreen comes within about $200 million in estimated revenue of CBS' $1,018,000,000. Clear Channel's acquisition of Paxson will increase its revenues by about $100 million. Capstar's buying binge more than doubles its revenue and ups its rank from #10 six months ago to #7. While Citadel vaults from #27 to #16 on the Jim Duncan- tallied list. And a familiar group inches into the top ten: Emmis, up from #13 to #10. More details on page 11. GEOLOGIC MAP OF THE ENNIS 30' x 60' QUADRANGLE MADISON AND GALLATIN COUNTIES, MONTANA, AND PARK COUNTY, WYOMING by Karl S. Kellogg* and Van S. Williams* Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology Open-File Report 529 2006 * U. S. Geological Survey, Denver, CO Revisions by MBMG This report has been reviewed for conformity with Montana Bureau of Mines & Geology’s technical and editorial standards. Introductory Note This geologic quadrangle map is based almost entirely on the original map by Karl S. Kellogg and Van S. Williams (2000) published by the U.S. Geological Survey as Geologic Investigation Series I-2690, scale 1:100,000. Differences from the original map arise from MBMG’s effort to integrate the Ennis quadrangle data with adjacent MBMG quadrangle maps to establish a seamless geologic coverage in southwest Montana. To this end, some map unit letter symbols have been revised, twelve new units have been added, two units have been dropped, and a few unit text descriptions have been slightly modified. 1 Kalispell MONTANA 15 Great Falls 90 Missoula Helena 94 Butte Bozeman Billings 90 90 15 112°00' R3W R2W R1W R1E R2E R3E R4E R5E 111°00' 45°30' R n o s T4S 287 i d a 191 Mc Allister M Ennis TOBACCO ROOT Lake MOUNTAINS T5S r MADISON CO CO GALLATIN C Ja te ck ni C ra r G Ennis Virginia T6S City 287 A Big Sky CO PARK ld Big Sky e r Meadow Village C Mountain Village r GALLATIN CO GALLATIN G M r C a k a c l o d R T7S l i a s Cameron t o Bea i r C n n r GALLATIN RANGE GRAVELLY R 287 R i i v v RANGE e MADISON RANGE r e T8S Indian Cr r ylor Fo r Ta k R ub r y C T9S R by 191 Ru 45°00' 0246 mile 0 2 46 8 km Figure 1.

  • Media Guide for Federal Leaders in Oklahoma
Media Guide for Federal Agencies Discussing the traditional forms of Media Interaction AND addressing the topic of Social Media! Oklahoma Federal Executive Board 215 Dean A. McGee, Suite 320 Oklahoma City, OK 73102 (405) 231-4167 www.oklahoma.feb.gov Distributed July 2011 INTRODUCTION Federal agencies have a responsibility to provide accurate and timely information to the general public and the media. In many cases, however, agencies do not have a person designated and trained as a Public Affairs Officer (PAO). In such instances, the CEO or a front-line employee must act as the agency's representative to the public. Many times, the intended message may be lost during the interview; often lack of planning or an inability to relay the message in succinct, easy to understand terms is the cause. Dealing with the media can be a daunting, nerve-wracking experience, whether it is in a face-to-face interview, phone interview or on camera. It is important to be at your best when communicating your message. This guide has been developed to assist those individuals called upon to speak on behalf of their agency to the press, both managerial and non-managerial employees. Whether you are responding to inquiries, arranging or participating in an interview, or simply providing information for print or broadcast, it is hoped that this media guide will provide you with useful information and some important tips to assist you. The purpose of this Media Guide is informational in nature for public employees. As in the past, the guidance is based on the principle that the business of Government is vital to serving the public everywhere.
