Ray Giacoletti was introduced as the 26th head coach in Drake men’s basketball history during a press conference on QUICK FACTS March 28, 2013. In his first season at the helm of the Bulldogs, he led the University squad to a 10-3 start to the season that included the Fresno Location Des Moines, Iowa State Classic championship and a program-record five wins Founded 1881 in the month of November. BULLDOGS PRIMED FOR FUTURE MVC SUCCESS • Drake and Pepperdine meet for the first time in the program’s respective histories. • With 10 freshmen or sophomores on this seasons’ roster, the Bulldogs’ have positioned themselves for future opportunities in the veteran-dominated Missouri Valley Conference. • Of the nine players selected to the preseason All-MVC teams, eight are seniors and one is a junior.

BULLDOGS ABROAD • The Bulldogs got head start on the 2015-16 season with a 10- day foreign tour to Denmark and Italy Aug. 12-22. • In addition to three games overseas, the team also benefitted from the allowable 10 team practices prior to the trip. • The Bulldogs opened up competition in Denmark with an 83- 55 win over Vaerlose, Jacob Enevold’s former club team. • The team’s second game, against Italian club A.P. Castel- franco, saw the Bulldogs pull away for a 114-51 win. • In the team’s final game, the Bulldogs faced a top-division professional Lithuanian team, BC Atletas. BC Atletas jumped out to a big lead before the Bulldogs rallied to trim that margin in the second half until ultimately falling, 84-79. • Kale Abrahamson scored 12 of his 18 points in the third quar- ter to key that near comeback. • In addition to action on the court, the Bulldogs also bonded and grew through shared cultural experiences.
