THE CHINA-AALCO EXCHANGE AND RESEARCH PROGRAM ON INTERNATIONAL LAW(CAERP) The China-AALCO Exchange and Research Program on International Law (CAERP) was launched in 2015. It is designed to strengthen exchange in the field of international law for Asian and African countries and to support the work of Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO). Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang announced the program in 2015 as one of China’s initiatives for closer Asian-African cooperation. 3 / 36 International law training is an important part of the program. So far, four training sessions have been organized. The fifth training session will be held from July 29 to August 9, 2019 in Beijing and from August 10 to 16, 2019 in Hong Kong. The theme of the fifth session is peaceful settlement of international disputes. Lectures will be given in English by leading international law scholars and practitioners. City tours, site visits and cultural activities will also be organized.
