Legislative Assembly Thursday, 21 June 2007 THE DEPUTY SPEAKER (Mrs D.J. Guise) took the chair at 9.00 am, and read prayers. PAPER TABLED A paper was tabled and ordered to lie upon the table of the house. PARLIAMENTARY STANDARDS COMMISSIONER Removal of Notice - Statement by Deputy Speaker THE DEPUTY SPEAKER: I inform members that private members’ business notice of motion 9, notice of which was given on 21 November 2006, will be removed from the next notice paper unless written notification is provided to the Clerk requesting that the notice be continued. CHINA TRADE AND INVESTMENT MISSION Statement by Premier MR A.J. CARPENTER (Willagee - Premier) [9.02 am]: It was my recent privilege as Premier and Minister for Trade to undertake an eight-day trade and investment mission to China. The main purpose of the trip was to reinforce the strong and growing relationship between Western Australia and China, explore new trade and cultural opportunities and commemorate the twentieth anniversary of WA’s sister-state relationship with Zhejiang province. Our relationship with China is underscored by the fact that it has now overtaken Japan as WA’s number one export destination, and our two-way trade has exceeded $13 billion. While in Beijing, I had productive meetings with a number of senior government officials, including Chinese Vice-Premier Zeng Peiyan. I also opened a Western Australian trade and investment seminar, which attracted keen interest from a large number of potential investors. There appeared to be continued interest in our natural resources, especially iron ore. At Ningbo in Zhejiang province I attended the official opening of China’s International Consumer Goods Fair, which featured the very best of Western Australia.

Letter from the publisher HELLO THERE! DEAR READER, 1 Love him or loathe him, you can’t deny the staying power of Geraldo Rivera. In a world where everyone seems to choose sides, Geraldo has always blazed his own trail. He’s both a self-proclaimed Jew-Rican New Yorker with progressive views on immigration and a friend of Donald Trump, Sean Hannity, and Roger Ailes. He is both a low-brow entertainer brawling with neo-Nazis and “revealing” Al Capone’s empty vault and an award-winning reporter whose work led to the reform of the horrific conditions of institutions for the disabled and who served fearlessly on the front lines in Afghanistan and Iraq. Now, with the perspective of time and with nothing left to prove, Rivera reflects on the ups and downs of his incredible life and career in the spotlight in The Geraldo Show. Did you know that a single chemical in our brains is associated with striving, wanting, and addic- tion? It is the reason we’re constantly seeking rewards but are never satisfied once we’ve attained them. That chemical is dopamine, and The Molecule of More takes a look at the research behind it, and how it impacts everything we do—whether it’s love, business, politics, or religion—and how we can strive to be better. What do highly successful people have in common? In The Formula, the reason behind the excel- lence of the world’s top achievers can be distilled into one principle: parenting matters. Combining the latest research on child development with never-before-published findings from the “How I Was Parented Project,” Harvard economist and educational “achievement gap” expert Ronald Ferguson and journalist Tatsha Robertson reveal how, regardless of race, class, or background, every student can achieve success.

Bringelly Public School Annual Report 2016 1360 Page 1 of 24 Bringelly Public School 1360 (2016) Printed on: 7 April, 2017 Introduction The Annual Report for 2016 is provided to the community of Bringelly Public School as an account of the school's operations and achievements throughout the year. It provides a detailed account of the progress the school has made to provide high quality educational opportunities for all students, as set out in the school plan. It outlines the findings from self–assessment that reflect the impact of key school strategies for improved learning and the benefit to all students from the expenditure of resources, including equity funding. Sharyl Scott Principal School contact details Bringelly Public School 1205 The Northern Road Bringelly, 2556 www.bringelly-p.schools.nsw.edu.au [email protected] 4774 8271 Message from the Principal I wish to thank parents, friends of Bringelly School and the wider community as the projects we have been involved in this year would not have occurred without the tremendous support given weekly by the members of the Bringelly community. The school has volunteers help every day in the canteen, classrooms, with the Genius Hour activities, the gardens, reading groups, sports and cultural activities. The complements the students receive from the wider community give the school the reputation of a school community who are polite, well behaved, enjoyable to be with and who are interested in listening and learning from others. Whether the comment comes from visitors to the school, scripture teachers, parents or through hearsay we can be very proud of all the students.
