As much as our community is our spiritual home, it also has financial obligations which must be supported.

Our stewardship collections over the past few years have averaged roughly half of what is required to cover the operating expenses of the church. In order to make up this deficit, we must organize fundraisers--which bring us together as a community for fellowship, but Philoptochos with the primary objective of raising money to cover our church operating expenses. For example: if 100 families currently giving $500 per year as their stewardship commitment increased that to $600 per year, it would immediately mean $10,000 more towards our operating expenses! This would reduce the need for fundraisers and relieve some of the “fundraising fatigue.” Now imagine if every one of our community’s nearly 600 families were able to pledge, on average, an extra $8.33 per month. After the chapel service, students return to their classrooms with their teachers.

GODPARENT MONTH February has been designated as Godparent Month. Throughout the month, Godparents are encouraged to attend the Divine Liturgy with their Godchildren to worship and receive Holy Communion together. In addition, February 12th has the special distinction of being Godparent Sunday. Afterwards please join us for the Philoptochos Godparent’s Sunday Brunch/Fairy Nouna Project.

Below Preschool you will find the schedule of classes going to the Chapel for January and February: Both January and February will be busy months at the Archangel Michael Preschool! After being welcomed Jan. 8: Grade 8 and Young Adults back for the New Year, the children will make snowmen, Jan. 22: Grades 2, 3 and 4 snowflakes and mittens to decorate our rooms. Ionian Village Honoring Veterans

In early September, Ionian Village, the international Summer Camp Ministry of the Greek Orthodox Archdio- cese of America in , sustained extensive damage from fierce tornadoes. Programs had concluded in Au- gust and there were no campers or staff present. The Director of Ionian Village, Fr. Evagoras Constantinides, went immediately to Greece to assess the damage, which is estimated at $3 million.
