FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Media Contact: Lee Runchey [email protected] Diane Namm Telemafia Comedic Short Marks Namm’s Second Film Los Angeles, CA (June 11, 2010) – TELEMAFIA, a unique, laugh-out-loud short, is Namm’s second film. On the festival circuit, TELEMAFIA premiered at Dingle Film Festival, Ireland and has gained official selection in Newport Beach Film Festival, Seattle True Independent Film Festival and Feel Good Film Festival. TELEMAFIA (www.telemafiamovie.com) is what happens when a telemarketer picks the wrong consumer to call! The two “cross phones” in a conversational duel in what starts out as a typical telemarketing cold call and ends up being a call that neither will ever forget. Starring Ray Abruzzo (THE SOPRANOS, DYNASTY, THE PRACTICE, THE HOUSE OF SAND AND FOG, and more) as “Giovanni,” the consumer; and Jeff Richards (SNL, MAD TV, FLASH FORWARD) as “Bob,” the telemarketer. Key players in the filmmaking process were Co-writer, Jan Militello; Producer, Eric Mofford; Tom Morris, Director of Photography; Tana Roller, Production Designer; Scott Meyer, Film Editor; and William Kevin Anderson, Composer. TELEMAFIA was shot in HD in one Los Angeles location in two days. The inspiration for the film was a viral youtube prank on which Namm and Militello independently commented – leading them to become friends on Facebook. Militello suggested to Namm it would make a good short. Namm suggested that Militello write the script and offered to produce and direct. Three days later with script in hand, Namm went into pre-production and the rest is TELEMAFIA/Facebook history!
