The Skyhawks arrived at sunny Playa del Carmen around 4 p.m. local time All Times are CST and subject to change on Sunday and held a light practice that evening. UT Martin is one of four teams to make up the Mayan Division of the 2019 Cancun Challenge, joining the likes of PROBABLE STARTING LINEUP Boston University, Gardner-Webb and Northern Colorado. The tournament is also comprised of a Riviera Division that consists of Northern Iowa, South Carolina, UT MARTIN West Virginia and Wichita State. #1 Parker Stewart, G, 6-5, 200, R-So. The tournament opens on Tuesday, Nov. 26 when the Skyhawks take on 15.4 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 3.0 apg, 0.2 bpg, 1.6 spg Gardner-Webb. UT Martin will then square off against either Boston University or Northern Colorado on Wednesday, Nov. 27 before heading back to campus on #2 Craig Randall II, G, 6-5, 185, R-Sr. Thanksgiving Day. 10.6 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 2.0 apg, 0.2 bpg, 1.2 spg The Skyhawks are the seventh Ohio Valley Conference program to play in the Cancun Challenge. Past OVC representatives include Jacksonville State #5 Derek Hawthorne, Jr., G, 6-3, 205, Sr. (2018), Southeast Missouri (2017), Eastern Kentucky (2016), Austin Peay (2012), 15.4 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 1.6 apg, 0.2 bpg, 0.4 spg SIUE (2011) and Morehead State (2008). OVC squads are 6-6 all-time in Cancun Challenge games played in Mexico. UT Martin will face stiff competition this week, as its first opponent #22 Quintin Dove, F, 6-8, 210, Sr. Gardner-Webb returns 10 players from a team that won 23 games last season. 18.8 ppg, 7.4 rpg, 0.6 apg, 0.0 bpg, 0.6 spg Boston University dialed up a 78-70 road win at South Carolina last Tuesday and feature a veteran team that brought back 11 players and four starters from 2018-19. #24 Isaac Aguiar, F, 6-10, 220, Fr.
