Graffiti represent the oldest form of art with which humans left a trace in the world. Let us remember the first scrabbles on the caves’ walls, depictions in Egyptian pyramids, hie- roglyphics, etc. They represent the whole world behind one word. It is not difficult to no- tice my fascination with those scrabbles on the walls/benches/doors.

Preparations for ICW - full speed ahead Second preparatory workshop has been held with the female and male leaders of the Intercultural Creative Weeks project in NARKO-NE on 5th May, and the topic of the gathering was, like this year, to promote a project to the new, strong youth who will bring changes with their actions, and make both their own and children’s holidays enriched by new adventures. On the meeting, together with a project co- ordinator Magdalena Schildknecht, they planned how and when they will notify high schoolers of project’s start, how to become a female/male volunteer, that is - when and where they can start to volunteer. Fe- male and male leaders have arranged their ta- sks and are working relentlessly to successfully realize the preparatory activities that follow so that the realization of the project itself can be- gin. They thought of couple ideas for this year’s motto that will follow them throughout the whole project and connect two cities. They will Iz našereveal which motto they have chosen in the project’s beginning. A group of students from Switzerland will this year also accompany them in projec riences and creativity in Vareš and Novi Travnik. ICW

Give them time instead of money After the educations that were held during February and March, the second set of educations has been cre- ated for volunteers of this project, and it was led by professional staff, and they turned out to be necessary in their work. An education on psychodrama was held around May, and it was led by a psychology gradu- ate Tihana Majstorović, Family and Systemic Psychotherapy with MSc Đana Lončarica, Group analyses with MSci Dr. med. Azra Arnautović and Reality Therapy with a psychologist and psychotherapist Nermina Veha- bović-Rudež. What is also important to mention for young people involved in the project is their contributi- mahaleon to addiction prevention and how they selflessly invested their free time in so- cializing with children. In May, volunteers have visited Escape Room centre in Sara- jevo, where they solved riddles in teams, and, apart from having a great time they developed their cognitive skills and cre- ativity. Sports activities were not lacking too, so in the Education, Sports and Re- creation Centre Safet Zajko they have played badminton, volleyball and other activities that do well for their health. Through their volunteering engagement, from December 2017 they have given 1053 hours of their free time for 948 children altogether through workshops, sociali- zing and play, and they continue to give Educational work with children at risk through the activities they are realizing.

Fit as a fiddle Young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina are passive! The sentence that we often hear in media, around us. That it is not always the case young people from Breza have shown us, who, after finishing KULT’s education Learn, Think, Act (LTaA) have written and realized a project Fit as a Fiddle together with a team from Maglaj. In this way, young people have gone through the writing process and project proposition management, with the full responsibility for its reali- zation, while the Institute for Youth Development KULT and NARKO-NE followed and supported young people in the realization. Activities have been realized in Maglaj in the period from 27th to 29th April and in Breza in the period from 3rd to 6th May 2018, and they included workshops on addiction prevention and info desk on squares for all interested so that they could inform themselves more on the topic and the importance of addiction prevention and health promotion. Additionally, these young people have organized a street race in Breza, in which over 60 children and young people have participated, and a Local team from Breza, which acts under High Schooler’s Association of B&H, helped them in the organization. Young people are very active indeed, so give them a chance and they will do many more similar activities! Older Brother, Older Sister VolunteersIz continue to spend time with their younger sistersnaše and brothers, and in the past period they have decided to enrich their time together by participating in group activities in which they together had a chance to visit Svrzo’s House, Yellow Bastion and Education, Sports and Recreation Centre Safet Zajko. In Svrzo’s Ho- use they got familiar with the way of life of a traditional rich Muslim family that used to life there, and they continued their journey to a place from which they will see the beauties of the city of Sarajevo- Yellow Basti- on, where they have enjoyed the view with a picnic and spent time together and exchanged experiences and happenings from previous workshops. In the Education, Sports and Recreation Centre Safet Zajko they have tried acting and created roles in order to make a movie in the near future that will be a reminder of their time spent together. Throughout May, the second cycle of educational workshops for volunteers has been held on youth violence and bullying, studying and memory techniques, family influence and societal influence on adolescents and pa- renting styles. The goal of educational workshops has been for all volunteers to get additional knowledge on topics related to current problems in work with youth and children that are closely related to their voluntee- ring engagement, and their future professional growth and development. mahale Visiting the Yellow fortress
