The music festival was an annual music festival held at the Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Washington. It took place on Memorial Day weekend, running for three to four days. It was cancelled in 2019. About the 2008 Sasquatch Logo Festival! It usually featured a number of musical genres, with a focus on indie rock bands and singer-songwriters, but also including alternative rock, hip hop, EDM, and comedy acts. By 2012, the festival included five stages: Sasquatch! The main stage, Bigfoot Stage, Banana Shack (a tent that included mostly comedy numbers and electronic music, now known as El Chupacabra), Yeti Stage and Uranus Stage (the smallest of the scenes, which usually changed names every year but has not been present since 2017). Most of the festival participants camped out in designated camping fields nearby, as the venue is relatively remote and there are no large urban areas nearby. Bigfoot! was recognized as one of the Top 10 Summer Music Festivals in the United States by ConcertBoom. The story of Sasquatch! The music festival was founded in 2002 by Pacific Northwest concert promoter Adam Sachs and later house of blues. Prior to the festival, Sachs commissioned and directed the show at the Roseland Theatre in Portland, Oregon. After moving to Seattle to be closer to friends and family, Sachs began considering creating a music festival in the Pacific Northwest. In an interview with Seattle Weekly September 2007 Sachs described the birth of Saxvatch!: Saxwatcha!: on the foreboding that there is an untapped demand for a certain kind of festival that served the eclectic taste of music lovers. It started in 2002, which was shortly after a number of touring festivals (Lollapalooza, Lilith, Horde) was petered and the beginning of a wave of regional festivals that began with Coachella and is now a dominant force in the music landscape, with Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, etc. In 2014, Adam Sachs decided to expand the festival to two due to high demand for tickets in 2013. On March 21, 2014, the Siskvatcha Independence Day weekend was canceled. Jeff Trisler, president of Live Nation, released the following statement on the ad: Sasquatch! the community was talking. They continue to support the traditional Memorial Day weekend event with great enthusiasm, Jeff Trisler, president of Live Nation Seattle, said in a statement. Unfortunately, the second weekend was not accepted. We felt it was best to cancel the new event now and give everyone time to make alternative plans for the Fourth of July weekend. Go, Sskwatch! The music festival will be in the Gorge amphitheatre at the weekend fans want: Memorial Day weekend only . On June 28, 2018, Sachs officially announced that Sasquatch! The music festival will cease its activities indefinitely and will not return in 2019. The one professor that has really guided my development has been Dr. John Streamas. By connecting me to different resources and his challenging the confines of higher education so that it can improve, he has been an inspiration to finish this work. It is also important that I mention the help that other faculty members have given me. I appreciate the assistance I received anytime that I needed it from Dr. T.V. Reed and Dr. Rory Ong. A person that has kept me on point with deadlines and requirements has been Jean Wiegand with the American Studies Department. She gave many reminders and explained answers to my questions often more than once. Debbie Brudie and Rose Smetana assisted me as well in times of need in the Comparative Ethnic Studies office.
