HICKORY avid Elder, a man best known in this city as the coach of Hickory High’s 1996 state title team, is a member of Dfour hall of fames. He’s been inducted into the Lenoir-Rhyne, Catawba County, Al- exander County and most recently the North Carolina High School Athletic Association sports halls of fame for his achievements as a player and a coach.
