Master of Science (Computer Science) – M.Sc. (Computer Science)

The M.Sc. (Computer Science) programme prepares the graduates to effectively design, construct and deploy quality business and IT tools to demonstrate strong insight and knowledge in their areas of expertise. The curriculum has a strong emphasis on basic techniques and project work that results in efficient and effective ways of building large hardware and software systems. Master’s degree in Computer science would be of 100 credits. These 100 credits are divided in Core and Elective subjects. Internal Evaluation is for 50 marks based on Written Test, Term Paper, Journal / Lecture / Library notes, Seminar presentation, Short Quizzes, Assignments, Extension Work, An Open Book Test, Mini Research Project, etc. Along with Core and Elective courses students will have to opt for Skill Based courses for 10 credits such as Introduction to Cyber Security, Human Rights and Skill Based Coursed (Robotics). Documents required for Admission: 1. A passport size recent photograph must be affixed on the admission form in the provided space. 2. Students from other colleges seeking admission must present the original copies of the Transfer Certificate and Marksheet along with two attested Xerox copies of each. 3. Students from other Boards / Universities will have to submit original copies of Migration Certificate and Marksheet along with two Xerox copies of the same. 4. Applicant seeking admission to First year of any of the academic programmes has to apply for the Certificate of Eligibility to the Registrar, SPPU in the prescribed form along with the necessary fees. 5. Students eligible for concession in fees like PTW/ STW/ EBC/ Reserved category/Defense personnel etc. will have to submit all necessary documents duly signed by the competent authority at the time of admission.

Refund of Deposits: 1. All deposits – Library and Laboratory will be refunded at the time of leaving the college. 2. Deposits will be refunded to the students after deduction for losses/damage, if any, after 31st July of the following academic year. 3. Deposits not claimed within a year shall be forfeited. 4. Deposits will not be refunded unless the Receipt and Identity Card are produced. 5. Deposits will be refunded in person only.

Rules and Guidelines Regarding Admission: 1. Fresh admissions are strictly provisional and will be confirmed only after receiving the necessary approval of SPPU. 2. Students are required to fill up the pre-admission forms online on the college website i.e. www.halcollege.co.in. 2. Application for the admission must be made in the prescribed form, attached to this prospectus and should be accompanied by remittance of necessary fees. 3. Admission to the college is strictly on the basis of merit & reservation norms.

4. Refer to the fee charts of the respective class on the notice board for the remittance of necessary fees for the admission. 5. Fees are subject to revision as per the University and Govt. of Maharashtra directives. 6. Fees have to be paid in full at the time of taking admission. 7. A student who does not pay his / her fee within 15 days of last day fixed for payment, without previous permission, shall have his / her name struck off the roll of students. 8. Only those applicants who fulfill all the eligibility conditions laid down by the University will be considered for admission. 9. The right of admission to the college is reserved with the authorities of the college as per the provisions of the Maharashtra University Act (Sec.65) 10. Applicant who may be required to cancel their admission due to some unforeseen reasons will be eligible for the refund of fees after due deductions as per the rules, prescribed by the University. 11. Students shall preserve the fee receipts given to them and shall produce the same whenever necessary. 12. Students have to abide by the rules and regulations of the college and help to maintain discipline in the campus. Anti Ragging Committee: In accordance with the UGC Regulations on Curbing the menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009, every college has to form its Anti Ragging Cell in order to prohibit any activity of a student which teases or hurts a fresher or any other student. Infrastructure Facility: Academic: The College has well-furnished classrooms, laboratory, computer laboratories, seminar hall and staff common room. The College is having Central Library facility. Audio-visual aids like LCD projectors, OHP, Computers and laptops are available in the college. The College has two computer State-of-the-art laboratories with latest configured computer systems. It also has facilities like internet and intranet, mounted LCD projectors. The institution has one electronics laboratory with latest configured computer systems. Gymkhana: There are ample number of recreational and sports facilities accessible to our students on the campus. The Spacious HAL stadium for outdoors events, the Community hall for indoor events, swimming pool at the club is available for the use of our college students. Health Centre: First–Aid service is made available in the college and further medical service is available at H.A.L. Hospital, at a distance of about 80 meters from the college.

Students’ Organization and Participation: a) Students’ Council The Students’ Council is the body of representatives of the College students to promote social, literary, intellectual and extra-curricular activities. It arranges lectures, discussions, debates, tours/ excursions and other similar activities. The activities of the Council are organized by a Managing Committee under the presidentship of the Principal and Chairmanship of one senior staff member. Elections to the Council are held as per the University rules in the month of July/August every year. b) College Gymkhana The Gymkhana aims at promoting qualities like physical fitness, leadership and corporate discipline, which are valuable assets for active citizenship and successful career. The committee nominated by the Principal manages the Gymkhana. H.A.L. Authorities have provided a playground for the use of students of our College. H.A.L. authorities have permitted the spacious H.A.L. stadium for outdoor events. The College gymkhana provides the facilities, for the games and sports such as Cricket, Volley Ball, Indoor Games, Foot Ball, Basket Ball, Athletics, etc. c) National Service Scheme (NSS) The College has National Service Scheme Unit with an objective to promote all round development of the student community. We encourage almost all our students to enroll for the National Service Scheme (NSS) and avail an opportunity to participate in various activities organized by the SPPU. NSS unit is very keen in organizing Guest lectures on social issues and conducts various social activities, which are properly planned during a year and in the winter camps with a maximum thrust on a given theme for the social development of our students and welfare of the society at large. d) Samarth Bharat Abhiyaan Under this scheme, our college has adopted Pimpri (Raulas) village for its development. Massive tree plantation programmes are organized every year. Activities like Socio-economic survey, Tanta Mukta Gaon, Street play, Blood donation camp, Soft-skill development and Computer awareness programmes are conducted on regular basis. We emphasis on involvement of all the students in social & cultural activities of the college. e) Board of Students’ Welfare The Board of Students’ Welfare is engaged in developing the all round personality of our students. Every year at least one specific skill development programme is organised. g) S.S.D.P. (Soft Skills Development Programme) Under S.S.D.P. scheme the final year students have to undergo a special 10 days training programmes. SSDP to develop dynamic skills like leadership, Communication, mind management, Motivation, etc. which help the students to climb the ladder of corporate world.

Discipline a) General 1. All students shall maintain discipline in the campus, carry the Identity Card & provide for inspection as and when asked for. 2. Do not park your vehicle in front of the entrance of the college. 3. Nobody should sit on the steps in front of the college or gather and stand in groups at the entrance. 4. Regard College property, building, furniture, trees, books etc. as your own personal property. 5. Always keep your campus clean & healthy. 6. Pan, gutkha / tobacco & smoking are strictly prohibited. 7. Co-operate to maintain discipline in the campus. If you see any one indulging in act of indiscipline, report the same to the Principal immediately. 8. Do not bring outsiders with you in the campus. 9. Take care to dress yourself in a befitting and decent manner. 10. Treat the teaching and non-teaching staff with respect. 11. Pay your fees on time. 12. Take care to fill in the examination form as per schedule. 13. Make it a point to have a look at the general notice boards every day, for notices regarding curricular and extra-curricular activities, scholarship notification, etc. b) Library 1. Strictly observe the rules and regulations of the Library. 2. Use Library books with great care. 3. Do not scribble anything in the books borrowed from the library. 4. Maintain absolute silence in the Reading Room. 5. The Students are allowed to keep a book for eight (8) days only. Failing to do so, a fine or Rs. 1/- per day will be charged for number of days after the due date. The students who fail to return the library book even after one month a fine of Rs. 2/- per day will be charged till the books is returned. Library facilities will be stopped for the defaulters immediately after one month. c) Class Room 1. Attendance in the class and laboratory is compulsory. As per the Directives of the High Court and the Ordinance of the University, 75% attendance is compulsory for a student to be eligible to appear for Annual Examination conducted by the University.

2. Observe the rules and regulations regarding Internal tests, seminars, home assignments etc. 3. Extend full co-operation to the teachers. 4. Feel free to discuss your difficulties with the teachers at the appropriate time. 5. Help to maintain discipline in the classroom. 6. Do not scribble anything on the walls, desks and blackboards. 7. Help to keep your classroom clean. d) Laboratory 1. Maintain discipline in the laboratory. 2. Handle the equipments with great care. 3. Negligence of any kind is unpardonable in the laboratory. 4. While handling all electrical/electronics equipments take all necessary precautions. 5. Keep your journals neat and up to date. 6. In case you have any difficulty, contact the Practical or Laboratory Assistant. 7. Help to keep your laboratory clean.

Note – All cases of indiscipline will be dealt with the Discipline Committee headed by the Principal. The decision of the Committee shall be final.
