Hello I'm Aimee Johnson and I Would Like to Use Some of My Time to Tell Hello I’m Aimee Johnson and I would like to use some of my time to tell you about my trip to Alton towers sit back, relax and of we go!!!! On Saturday the 16 th August we were about to set off to Alton Towers when we heard a big bang outside. Mum rushed to the window & saw a bus had crashed into a tree. Mum shouted Dad to go & help as he is a fire fighter. Dad got on the bus with our first aid kit & helped the injured passengers, one was badly injured. He gave the man first aid & helped the paramedics & air ambulance before the man was flown to hospital. We got in our car & it wouldn’t start again so the police had to help us start it! When we finally set of on the journey to stoke to our hotel called the Best Western Moat House. When we arrived, we went to the bar and had a quick drink and then me and my sister (Ellie) scurried to our hotel room to see what it was like, there was a bunk bed and a double bed. Later on my Mum and Dad arrived knocking on the door me and my sister were begging to go down and go in the swimming pool after about 5 minis of constant nagging they finally gave in and the next thing you know we were in the pool having races across the it (It was quite small) then my Mum and Dad went in the sauna and stem room me and Ellie weren’t allowed in because we are under 16. When we were fed up we jumped out and got dressed and dried. When we got back to the room it was about 5:00pm so we started getting ready for are tea. After we got ready we rushed down stairs to have some tea. Me and Ellie had garlic bread for starters and my mum and dad shared some pâté and bits and bobs I think it was a platter anyway, for mains my mum had fillet fish, my dad had a massive steak pie I had chicken nuggets chips and beans and my sister had chicken nuggets chips and peas then for deserts me my mum and sister all had a warm chocolate brownie with ice cream EACH it was delish. Later we trundled up to the room and popped are pjs on and climbed into bed and watched TV for a bit and then we fell straight to sleep……. Sunday 17 th august 2013 06:30am We all got up at 06:30 so we could get ready and had a energizing breakfast for are big day out at Alton towers resort when we were ready we hurried down to get some breakfast I had some coco pops for start and then I had 2 sausage 1 bacon and a hash brown my sister had the same but rice crispy, my mum and dad had all sorts of stuff. Again the car wouldn’t start so we had to get someone to jump start it. After that we set of on are next journey to Alton towers. We met all the other Travel Counsellors at Alton Towers, Mum said there was really nice people there from head office too. Some were getting their T Shirts & tickets but my Mum already had them as we had been to head office on Friday to give a present to my Mums friend who was leaving to have a baby. So we got ours first. We went through the gates and had to wait for everyone to have our picture taken. We walked all the way over to Blade which is a giant pirate ship that swings really high. It made my tummy go funny. Mum screamed. It was funny. The photographer took pictures of us all on the ride and before we got on. The next ride was Nemesis but me & Mum didn’t want to go on it. Dad & Ellie did & they liked it. I went on Air with my Dad & Ellie, Mum doesn’t really like rides. We made my Mum que for over an hour for Sonic & she went on it. She felt really sick and didn’t like it at all. It was funny. We were being silly in the que so it went fast. Mum also went on the runaway train with us and she enjoyed that. It got to lunch time so quick. We went into the room where Royal Caribbean gave us bags with sweet, cards and keyrings in. That was really kind. Mum also said they paid for the lunch which was yummy. I had a huge hot dog, pasta and some cheese. I had a minion painted on my hand by the people who were doing the face painting. I love minions my Mum does too. I queued up for Rita with my Dad and Ellie. They told me at the beginning that I was tall enough for the ride and then when I got to the ride they said I wasn’t so I queued up for nothing. Maybe when I go back next year I will be tall enough. We all went on Hex it was a bit strange my sister really didn’t want to go on it but Dad said she had too. Dad & Ellie went on Obivion & Rita without us. We all went on Charlie & the Chocolate ride and before we left we went on the Rapids. We loved the rapids, I was the only one who didn’t get wet until we went past some people who were squirting water at us. They squirt it right at me and I was soaked. We all laughed lots. We stayed at the Splash Landings hotel it was great we had a lovely meal in the secret garden restaurant. We don’t get chance as a family to do much together as my Dad is always very busy and works away a lot. I don’t think we would have gone to Alton Towers if it wasn’t arranged by Travel Counsellors. I love spending time with my family I miss us all being together. We had a new kitchen this year and a new bathroom last year so Mum said we can’t afford to go on holiday just yet. I am so glad we had a little holiday to spend together. I love my Mum’s job working at home as she is always at school in the morning and at night so I don’t have to go to after school club. We also have plenty of time to walk our puppy Paddy who is a cocker spaniel. Mum and Dad said we wouldn’t be able to have a dog if it wasn’t for my Mum’s job. Thank you Travel Counsellors for a lovely day! .

The issue was so central to the revolutionary program that the Bolsheviks published decrees establishing civil marriage and divorce soon after the October Revolution, in December 1917. These first steps were intended to replace Russia’s family laws with a new legal framework that would encourage more egalitarian sexual and social relations. A complete Code on Marriage, the Family, and Guardianship was ratified by the Central Executive Committee a year later, in October 1918.3 The code established a radical new doctrine based on individual rights and gender equality, but it also preserved marriage registration, alimony, child support, and other transitional provisions thought to be unnecessary after the triumph of socialism. Soviet debates about the relative merits of unfettered sexu- ality and the protection of women and children thus resonated with long-standing tensions in the history of socialism. I would like to thank Atina Grossmann, Carola Sachse, and Mary Nolan, as well as the anonymous reader for Central European History, for their comments and suggestions.

LONDON Bridge-water State College Detailed family histories were taken of students who were the first in their families to go to college. This paper utilizes the psychoanalytic and family systems theory of Helm Stierlin and others to explore (1) how college matriculation for first-generation students is linked to multi- generational family dynamics, and (2) how these students reconcile (or do not reconcile) the often conflicting requirements of family membership and educational mobility. The same modernity that creates the possibility of opportunity for these students is seen also to create the potential for biographical and social dislocation. Introduction Several years ago the film Breaking Away was a box office success across America. On the surface it was the story of "town-gown" frictions between the "cuttters" of Bloomington, Indiana-so called because they were the children of the men who mined the local limestone qtuarries-atid the ostensibly more sophisticated but condescending students of Indiana University.

  • Turn Back Time: the Family
TURN BACK TIME: THE FAMILY In October 2011, my lovely wife, Naomi, responded to an advert from TV production company Wall to Wall. Their assistant producer, Caroline Miller, was looking for families willing to take part in a living history programme. They wanted families who were willing to live through five decades of British history. At the same time, they wanted to retrace the history of those families to understand what their predecessors would have been doing during each decade. Well, as you may have already guessed, Wall to Wall selected the Goldings as one of the five families to appear in the programme. Shown on BBC1 at 9pm from Tuesday 26th June 2012, we were honoured and privileged to film three of the five episodes. As the middle class family in the Edwardian, inter war and 1940s periods, we quite literally had the most amazing experience of our lives. This page of my blog is to share our experiences in more detail – from selection, to the return to normal life! I have done this in parts, starting with ‘the selection process’ and ending with the experience of another family. Much of what you will read was not shown on TV, and may answer some of your questions (those of you who watched it!!). I hope you enjoy reading our story. Of course, your comments are very welcome. PART 1 – THE SELECTION PROCESS I will never forget the moment when I got home from work to be told by Naomi that she had just applied for us to be part of a TV programme.

  • (Francis Boulard Et Fille) Organic Champagne from Delphine Boulard (Francis Boulard Et Fille) Delphine Boulard
Delphine Boulard (Francis Boulard et Fille) Organic Champagne from Delphine Boulard (Francis Boulard et Fille) Delphine Boulard. Francis Boulard. Profile Delphine Boulard is the seventh generation to work her family's land in Champagne and now fully at the helm of the estate she founded with her father Francis in 2009. For most of his life, Francis worked alongside his brother and sister running the now defunct family estate Raymond Boulard. The winery created a reputation for itself by highlighting the distinct terroirs of the three areas it worked: the rich clay soils of the Marne planted in Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay from the silica-limestone soils of the Massif de Saint-Thierry and the Pinot Noir of Mailly (the two latter being subsections of the Montagne de Reims.) During his tenure there, Francis was the head viticulturist and winemaker. But a fundamental disagreement would lead him to leave it all behind and start his own much smaller estate. Francis' career as a vigneron dates back to the early 70's, a period where chemical viticulture was only starting to gain traction. Like most in his generation, he began adopting chemical fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides in his vineyard work. But around 1996, he was faced with a daunting realization. "As a simple peasant, I always assumed that the products we were putting on our vines would wash away after a couple of rains, that they would naturally go away. No one ever told us that chemical residue would not only permanently affect the vineyard, but actually end up in the wine." Francis knew something had to change but wasn't entirely sure what to do.

  • What My Family Should Know
What My Family Should Know A GUIDE FOR GETTING YOUR AFFAIRS IN ORDER Name: Date Completed: 1 Foreword We cannot stress too often the importance of getting your personal affairs in order. This process is important for everyone, but even more important for those who often find themselves living away from family and friends. Throughout your life, you have tried to protect your loved ones and now you have a chance to help them at a time when they will need that help the most. Taking the time to plan now and record information for your loved ones will be the most unselfish gifts of love you can give. What My Family Should Know Although many of us are efficient in our daily lives and keep meticulous records in our professions, most of us leave inadequate and incomplete records of our economic and personal affairs when we die. When and how your benefits will be paid and how your estate will be settled are many questions that must be answered. This guide has been compiled to help you record the necessary facts for your family, your attorney and your executor. We suggest you complete this record and store it in a safe place so it will be available for possible revisions by you and later use by your family. • Interview with Comrade Chris Hani
Interview with Comrade Chris Hani SACP Offices, Rissik Street, Johannesburg, 23 and 31 March 1993. Interviewer: Luli Callinicos Transcribed by: Sheila Weinberg The original text of 21 256 words is preserved. This version has been edited to remove some passages that were duplicated and some obvious errors of transcription, as well as marks like “BREAK IN RECORDING”, “TELEPHONE”, “END OF TAPE”, and reference numbers that apply to the tape. “CH” is Chris Hani. “L” is Dr Luli Callinicos, the interviewer. CH So let me start from the beginning. I was born in the Transkei on 28 June 1942 in a small town called Cofimvaba which is about 60kms from Queenstown. I was not born in that small town. I was born in a remote village, St Marks. My mother had never been to school and my father must have gone to school for about five to six years. Basically primary education. My father was a migrant worker. He worked in the mines earlier on and later on he worked as a construction worker in Cape Town. Later becoming a hawker and selling soft goods. We as young people saw very little of him and our group really was supervised and monitored by my mother. We went to the village school, walking about 8 to 10 kms a day going to that school. We were three boys. We were six in the family but three survived. Because in the rural areas, those days, there were literally no health facilities. A family was lucky to have the whole offspring surviving. If fifty percent survived, that was an achievement, so out of six, three of us survived and we are still surviving.

Comrade Todor Zhivkov knew about this meeting, just as he knew about all my meetings and activities. The purpose of this session was to analyze the state of bilateral relations as they stood after the talks between [Deputy Foreign Minister Lyuben] Gotzev and First Deputy Secretary of State [Lawrence S.] Eagleberger and between Secretary of State [James] Baker and myself. That day—October 23—I had a meeting with the Swedish Minister of Foreign Trade at 11:30 p.m. When I reached my office at 12:30 p.m. —that is, just 10 minutes before my appointment with Ambassador Polansky—I was told that Todor Zhivkov had been trying to reach me by telephone. [Deputy Foreign Minister] Ivan Ganev was waiting in my secretary's office to see me.
