Francis Journey to the Center of the Soul JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE SOUL: MYSTICISM MADE SIMPLE by Richard Shining Thunder Francis Copyright 2001 by Love Ministries, Inc., Liberty Township, Ohio DEDICATION: To my two closest heartfriends, who have made possible all good in this life, and for whom I am and always remain eternally grateful-- Maria Francis and Pat Fields-- this book is dedicated, with deep, heartfelt Love. ACKNOWLEDGMENTS No work of Love is possible without loving friends. Their support is always invaluable, and deeply appreciated. Every man needs friends to love, even as he needs them to love him. So, it is with the utterly luminous Love of the heart that I respectfully express my admiration and delicious gratitude for the following extraordinary souls (in alphabetical order): Ann Blufeather, one of the most extraordinarily kind, compassionate, selfsacrificing, and beautiful people it has been my honor and joy to know. Mary "Maribee" Butler, whose kind and compassionate heart is matched only by her lucid and brilliant mind, whose friendship I so greatly treasure. Viqi Fairchild, who has taught me so much about the fine, delicate, sometimes unpredictable art of living as a physical being. Pat Fields, who has given with such miraculous generosity to make life possible. When I asked for God in my life, she appeared, and my prayer was answered. Maria Francis, the very best human being whom I have ever met, a woman true, guileless, and impeccably honorable, the sweetest friend of my heart. Karen "Aurora" Ludwick, for whose sharp eye and mind I am always grateful, in proofreading, a real "emerald" of a lady. Frank Merriman, a compassionate, generous man who has taught me much about the "Song of God" in nature and in myself, and a brilliant teacher in his own right. Greg Sexton, whose gentle kindness and magnificent mind have made it possible for me to have a roof over my head. Shirley Sexton, whose sense of refinement and elegance have brought much loveliness and beauty into my life-- and not just the visual kind, for she has a heart overflowing with compassion. ******* May whatever merit is created by this book be shared with all hearts everywhere. May the hearts of all beings be filled with Light and Love, and may all live forever in happiness, joy, and peace. It often seems as if they are falling out of the racks. They promise everything, often for nothing. The last thing this planet needs is yet another. But the reality is not appearance. Books about true spirituality are few and far between. Many thousands of books discuss religion-- a completely different subject. Religion does sometimes dip into the oceanic mindwaters of real Spirit. A tragic error blinds us, however, if we assume that religion is spiritual. The two can be totally unrelated. For religion involves finances, administrivia, hierarchy, Scriptural dogmas, and a host of other factors unrelated to Spirit. Also, much "bull" passes for popspirituality. This is usually a combination of cheap metaphysics and shabbier psychology. It is designed to stir up greed. It promises the moon and stars. With only the mindless repetition of some simple but "secret," usually "ancient and esoteric" techniques, you can become rich and/or famous overnight. You can have anything that you want, without even working for it. All that you have to do is wish-- as in a b-movie about a genie in a bottle.

RIGHTS CLAIMS THROUGH MUSIC A study on collective identity and social movements Dzeneta Sadikovic Department of Global and Political Studies Human Rights III (MR106S) Bachelor thesis, 15hp 15 ETC, Fall/2019 Supervisor: Dimosthenis Chatzoglakis Abstract This study is an analysis of musical lyrics which express oppression and discrimination of the African American community and encourage potential action for individuals to make a claim on their rights. This analysis will be done methodologically as a content analysis. Song texts are examined in the context of oppression and discrimination and how they relate to social movements. This study will examine different social movements occurring during a timeline stretching from the era of slavery to present day, and how music gives frame to collective identities as well as potential action. The material consisting of song lyrics will be theoretically approached from different sociological and musicological perspectives. This study aims to examine what interpretative frame for social change is offered by music. Conclusively, this study will show that music functions as an informative tool which can spread awareness and encourage people to pressure authorities and make a claim on their Human Rights. Lawyer Thamer Al-Jadaei said that reasons for the challenge were submitted to the court of cassation yesterday, which is expected to start looking into Barrak’s appeal very soon. Jadaei said that they will file a petition to release Barrak on bail only after a judge is appointed for the case. This could take a few days. In the first hearing, the judge will decide whether Barrak should remain in jail until the court issues its verdict or freed on bail pending trial. Barrak was handed the tough sentence by the appeals court for allegedly insulting HH the Amir at a public rally against amending the electoral law. Police arrived at Barrak’s residence late Sunday night, and after brief negotiations, he agreed to go with the police fol- lowing an emotional farewell by dozens of his support- ers, who carried him and vowed to protest to secure his release.

I only listened to TLOP twice, then i kicked it out. but "i am the god" or the yeezus [ new slaves ?] album was ok nah..lol.. 4 Your Eyez Only. J. Cole's fourth album arrived exactly two years after 2014 Forest Hills Drive. Released on short notice and with minimal hype, it's another one without guest verses, and his leanest yet. Told in the first person, most of its tracks trace the life trajectory of Cole's slain friend, as someone who dealt drugs, changed course after falling in love, and died at the age of 22. Cole also draws from some aspects of his own life. One track regards an unjustified SWAT raid on a house he rented for recording, leaving him feeling targeted, "Even when the president jam your tape." There's a moment of levity and sweetness throughout "Foldin Clothes," where Cole enthusiastically handles some domestic duties, while the two parts of "She's Mine" regard, respectively, his wife and daughter.

  • An Autoethnographic Exploration Into Bipolar Depression and Social Support As a Factor of Resilience
AN AUTOETHNOGRAPHIC EXPLORATION INTO BIPOLAR DEPRESSION AND SOCIAL SUPPORT AS A FACTOR OF RESILIENCE Wonda Baugh A Dissertation Submitted to the Graduate College of Bowling Green State University in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY May 2015 Committee: Sandra Faulkner, Advisor Sheri Wells-Jensen, Graduate Faculty Representative Ellen Berry Sarah Rainey ii ABSTRACT Sandra Faulkner, Ph.D., Advisor This dissertation is an autoethnographic inquiry into mental illness, social support, and voluntary kinship. I explore relationships with my voluntary kin - people who act as family without biological or legal ties - and the types of supportive relationships in which we engaged that helped me accept the diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder (BPD). Because of their communication and commitment to me, I learned to thrive while complying with mental health treatment. This document describes the process by which I went from being self-centered to other-centered; from social support receiver to social support provider; and from defining myself as an individual to understanding my role in the collective. iii All that matters are relationships and health. Everything else is—there is a word in Greek its called, skoupídia. It means more than garbage. It means stupid. It means so much! Skoupídia! That’s what everything else is and I’m finding that out more, as I get older. Possessions. Even educational attainment, even business acumen means nothing. Nothing! ~ Kathy Stathis iv ACKNOWLEDGMENTS For this project to have been accomplished, I needed so much help and support along the way. First, my very large and very supportive family and friends blessed me even when I did not always know what I was saying, or where I was—they kept me in their prayers.
