New Year’s Celebrations at Disney Resort

URAYASU, CHIBA—® will offer special programs for the New Year’s holiday from January 1 through 5, 2020 at ® Park and Tokyo DisneySea® Park.

The main program at both Parks will be the “New Year’s Greeting” where Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse dressed in traditional Japanese fashion, along with their Disney friends, greet Guests in celebration of the new year. For 2020, to honor the Year of the Mouse, designs of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse will be featured in the traditional Japanese New Year’s decorations at the entrances to both Parks. Special merchandise and menus will also be available during this time at Tokyo Disney Resort, as Mickey Mouse and his pals celebrate the beginning of a new year.

“New Year’s Greeting” Location: Mediterranean Harbor Performances: 3 daily Duration: About 10 minutes Performers: 6 Outline: Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and their friends, dressed in special New Year’s costumes, will appear aboard a barge on the waters of Mediterranean Harbor to share their New Year’s greetings with Guests. “New Year’s Greeting” in 2018 Note: Entertainment programs are subject to change or cancellation due to inclement weather or other circumstances.

Decorations At the entrance to World Bazaar in Tokyo Disneyland, the traditional New Year’s kadomatsu decorations will feature Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. The kadomatsu decorations at the entrance to Passaggio MiraCosta in Tokyo DisneySea will also be themed and banners decorating the passageway will depict kimono-clad Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. New Year’s decorations at entrance to World Bazaar at Tokyo Disneyland Special Merchandise Approximately 60 different types of merchandise for New Year’s will be available. Some items feature Mickey Mouse writing the Japanese letter for the zodiac character of the year and other items depict the Disney friends in traditional Japanese attire. There will also be daruma (Japanese good luck doll) based on Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.

Special Menu Items Guests can enjoy desserts in souvenir cups with designs featuring Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in kimono. Menu items such as the Kinako Churro and a Hot Yuzu-Ginger Drink help bring a traditional taste to the season.

The Disney Ambassador® Hotel, Tokyo Disneyland® Hotel and Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta® will all offer New Year’s menus. These special full-course menus and desserts are a tasty way for Guests to celebrate the new year.

DISNEY RESORT LINE

Day passes with special designs inspired by the new year celebrations will be available at each station on the Disney Resort Line.

Tokyo Disneyland will open at 8:30 a.m. and Tokyo DisneySea will open at 8:00 a.m.
