The Fabyan Parkway and Kautz Road project will complete the necessary transportation improvements to ensure access to new economic generators in local communities and two counties. Local and regional governments have been working in partnership to address economic development and transportation issues in this portion of DuPage and Kane Cou nties. Modernized access is crucial to the viability and susta inability of the proposed developments in the 640-acre DuPage Business Center and 500-acre Geneva Southeast Subarea. The transportation improvements will vastly improve access to t he DuPage Airport Authority, the t hird-most active airport in the State of Illinois, and to the Union Pacific West Chicago Vehicle Distribution Center. Based on the number of projects focused on this area in Chicago Metropolitan Area Planning MPO Transportation Improvement Program {TIP), it is evident that local entities are very serious about updating and upgrading regional transportation facilities. Access is important for economic development and job growth in this part of t he Chicago land western suburbs, but safety and efficiency of commercial transport are equally important. Regional commerce travels to and through this corridor, and with accelerating freight growth it is imperative to build resilient and durable roads. Key project area facilities Fabyan Parkway and IL 38/Roosevelt Road, both Strategic Regional Arterials, have experienced too many fatal and injurious accidents over the last decade. This project will address the design of Fabyan Parkway in order to make the entire area a safer and more efficient corridor. This project's gains will be realized above and beyond economic generators. Transportation and economic development benefits will positively impact local residents. By improving the transportation system and drawing new economic development opportunities into the DuPage Airport area, this project can spur life-changing opportunities for residents-many of whom are low­ income with minimal skills. By comparison, the 101st General Assembly had at least 47 freshmen at the start of it, with several more who joined the body in 2019 and 2020.     MCDONALD’S CORPORATE HANGAR Tire staining, also known as “paw printing” or plasticizer migration, was an ongoing challenge for floor maintenance crews at McDonald’s corporate hangar before the facility’s owner landed on an extremely hard, chemical-resistant urethane finish from Tnemec. “The owner wanted the floor to be as pristine looking as possible, in spite of the hangar’s harsh environment,” Tnemec coating consultant Chris Wascher explained. “Ultimately, Series 247 EverThane was chosen for this job because of its stain- resistant properties.” Series 247 EverThane is an aliphatic moisture-cured urethane with excellent resistance to abrasion, wet conditions, corrosive fumes and chemical contact. Prior to coating the entire 45,000-square- foot hangar, the owner tested the urethane on a small section of the floor that was under heavy traffic from aircraft and their towing vehicles. “They drove over the mock-up and even left tires sitting on the coating overnight,” Wascher noted. “The mock-up successfully demonstrated the cleanability and abrasion resistance of the product.” Prior to applying Series 247, the existing epoxy/urethane system was thoroughly scarified using 100 grit sanding discs attached to PROJECT INFORMATION floor scrubbing machines. After sanding, the floor was carefully cleaned to ensure the surface was dry and free of contaminants, including oil and grease. Series 247 was field-pigmented with a Project Location standard white color during mixing, then roller applied over the Chicago, Illinois Series 291 and allowed to cure for seven days. “The coating contractor commented that the coating had very low odor and Project Completion Date was easy to apply using conventional roller equipment,” Wascher October 2007 recalled.

[email protected] or (312) 943-1955 WEST CHICAGO, IL (May 18, 2015) – The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) Division of Aeronautics has chosen DuPage Airport as the 2015 Illinois Reliever Airport of the Year. The award, which is presented to an airport serving general and corporate aviation needs in a large metropolitan area like Chicago, comes on the heels of the successful completion of DuPage’s $11.4 million project to widen and rehabilitate its primary runway – the second longest runway in Chicagoland. “DuPage Airport is an outstanding example of aviation excellence in Illinois,” said Steven M. Young, Interim Director of the IDOT Division of Aeronautics. “We applaud the leadership and commitment of the executive staff and Board of Commissioners to operating a first class facility.” “The staff of the DuPage Airport – top to bottom – is committed to excellence and we want every person that uses the facility to have an experience that is reflective of our commitment,” said David Bird, Executive Director of the DuPage Airport Authority. “As our capital improvement plan continues to move forward, we look forward to strengthening our relationship with IDOT and the Division of Aeronautics to continue to develop the finest facilities in aviation.” The recent runway improvements, including increasing width of the primary runway to 150 feet, enables the airport to enhance its operational capabilities to better accommodate large business jets.

Jackson Introduction On November 4, 2008 the junior Senator from Illinois, Barack Obama, was elected the 44th President of the United States. Obama was the first president to be elected from Illinois since the Civil War era. Of course, Abraham Lincoln was the first and the most famous, and the 16th president was also the first Republican ever to be elected president since the party was only born in 1854. Given Lincoln’s stature and reputation as one of the greatest, and perhaps the greatest president in American history, it is not surprising that Obama took every opportunity available during his campaign to link himself with Lincoln.
