2015 MADIDI NATIONAL PARK BOLIVIAN TRIP REPORT

21 plus mammal species including the following: 3 Lowland Tapirs, Jaguar, Ocelot, Kinkajou, Capybara, White Lipped Peccaries, Collared Peccaries, Capuchin Monkey, Tayra, Red Howler Monkey, Squirrel Monkey, Grey and Red Brocket Deer, Neotropical Otter, Golden Palace Titi Monkey, Night Monkey, Black Spider Monkey,Central American Agouti , Striped Agouti, 3 toed Sloth, and a one off sighting of a Giant Otter.
Over 80 species of birds and many different species of reptiles were recorded. Missed species included Giant Anteater which was seen by other tourists, Puma again recorded by other tourists, Margay, Bush dog etc Tapir Sightings 2 swimming in a river at 1500 and 1 Tapir at night in a Salt Lick with a viewing platform
Jaguar seen by river at 1530, was a brief sighting but saw tracks everywhere. We also heard Multiple Jaguar calling including one that came just 15 metres from us while we were fishing however could not get a picture due to the Chuchilo Grass.
Ocelot sighting at camp scavenging for fish scraps
While Lipped Peccaries in huge groups exceeding over 150, seen every day
Collared Peccaries seen during day treks and by the Salt Licks
Capybara seen to and from the lodge by the river
Neo tropical Otter, seen on the way to the lodge at 0730
Tayra seen by the river at 1300
Black Spider Monkeys seen most days in large and somewhat aggressive family groups.
Giant Otter seen resting on fallen log on river on return to Rurrenrabaque
Golden Palace or Madidi Titi Monkey, brief early morning sighting on 3rd day while trekking.
Kinkajous, multiple sightings while doing night treks.
