Step 3: Select water point type of ownership (OO) from Table OO (page no. 4) . For this example, it is 05. Step 4: Select water point type (WW) code from Table WW (page no. 5). For this example, water point type is Shallow Tube Well with No. 6 Pump. Therefore its code is 01. Step 5: Assign district (ZZ), upazila (TT) and union (UUU) GEO Code for water point. The GEO codes are as follows: for BAGERGAT district, ZZ is 01; for BAGERHAR SADAR upazila, TT is 08; and for BEMARTA union, UUU is 151. -

Habiganj Habiganj district is located in the Sylhet division. Human Rights Monitoring Report 1 – 31 May 2018 1 June 2018 1 Odhikar has, since 1994, been monitoring the human rights situation in Bangladesh in order to promote and protect civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights of Bangladeshi citizens and to report on violations and defend the victims. Odhikar does not believe that the human rights movement merely endeavours to protect the „individual‟ from violations perpetrated by the state; rather, it believes that the movement to establish the rights and dignity of every individual is part of the struggle to constitute Bangladesh as a democratic state. Odhikar has always been consistent in creating mass awareness of human rights issues using several means, including reporting violations perpetrated by the State and advocacy and campaign to ensure internationally recognised civil and political rights of citizens. The Organisation unconditionally stands by the victims of oppression and maintains no prejudice with regard to political leanings or ideological orientation, race, religion or sex. In line with this campaign, Odhikar prepares and releases human rights status reports every month. The Organisation has prepared and disseminated this human rights monitoring report of May 2018, despite facing persecution and continuous harassment and threats to its existence since 2013. Although many incidents of human rights violations occur every month, only a few significant incidents have been highlighted in this report. This monthly report displays our continuous effort to preserve quality data which can be used as a major tool kit for better management and evidence based decision making. The report consists of several information on demographic data associated with family planning, maternal & child health, reproductive health and nutrition services across the country. The report is a regular monthly issue designed to incorporate monthly service statistical progress at district and upazila level. MIS Unit of Directorate General of Family Planning consists of three sub systems namely Service Statistics (SS), Logistic Management Information System (LMIS) and Human Resource Information System (HRIS). In the year 2011, MIS Unit has developed web-based software to collect, collate and compile service statistics from field level. Online reporting is already an established system at upazila level and we have a plan to scale up e-MIS report at all administrative tiers across the country under 4th sector program. It is important to mention that this monthly report provides mainly service statistics information received from field workers, service delivery points and NGOs. Generally, the objectives of MIS are to develop and strengthen reliable information management system. We are hopeful that this report will help the users at all levels to compare and analyze the latest information on family planning, maternal, child and adolescent health. -
Taxonomy of the Leafy Vegetables in Bangladesh

Abstract Thirty four exploration trips made throughout Bangladesh from 2000 to 2012 resulted in identification of 186 taxa used as leafy vegetables in the country, of which 173 taxa belong to angiosperms and 13 taxa to pteridophytes. Among the angiosperms, Magnoliopsida is represented by 153 taxa under 114 genera and 43 families, whereas Liliopsida is represented by 20 species under 15 genera and 8 families. Pteridophytes are symbolized by 13 species belonging to 10 genera and 10 families. Under each taxon updated nomenclature, vernacular names, habit, representative specimen and area of major consumption of the plant as a leafy vegetable have been provided. Out of 186 leafy vegetables identified in Bangladesh, 140 taxa are wild and 46 are cultivated. Among the cultivated ones 16 species are cultivated only as leafy vegetables and 30 are cultivated for other purposes but also used as leafy vegetables. A total of 61 species have been newly documented as leafy vegetables for Bangladesh. Introduction Leafy vegetables are referred to leaves of any plants used as vegetables, sometimes accompanied by tender petioles and shoots. They constitute a major portion of our diet and play an important part in alleviating malnutrition. FAO (2012) has estimated that about 870 million people are chronically undernourished in the period 2010-12 representing 12.5% of the global population, or one in eight people.
