MEGA COURTS 2018 T20 YOUTH CRICKET TOUR Our 2016 International Youth Cricket Tour saw the Mega Courts Indoor Sports Team (MCIS) visit Kuala Lumpur and take part in the 6th SCA TYCDIEP International Youth Cricket Tournament in April 2016. The touring group had a fantastic time and came away winners of the Dr. V. Vaithiyanathan trophy for Under 16 champions. It was an experience that many of the young cricketers may only see once in their lifetime! It argues that the evolution of cricket in the six Gulf Cooperative Council countries (GCC) from essentially an expatriate sport to its status today, with evident strengths and weaknesses, reflects the Quality of the consolidation of the South Asian community, and especially of the Indian diaspora. The relationship between sports and the diaspora remains relatively unexplored. Using an empirical and comparative method, the paper adds to the current literature by studying the link between cricket and the diaspora in the Gulf region. OFFICIAL GUIDE Division 6, Jersey 2013 21-28 July JERSEY HOSTS PEPSI ICC WORLD CRICKET LEAGUE DIVISION 6 Jersey will host Pepsi ICC World Cricket League (WCL) Division 6 from 21–28 July 2013. This will be the second time that Jersey hosts a Pepsi ICC World Cricket League event, after it staged WCL Division 5 in May 2008. Argentina, Bahrain, Kuwait, Nigeria, Vanuatu and host Jersey will all be competing for the opportunity to finish in the top two of the event and ultimately gain promotion to Pepsi ICC WCL Division 5, which will be held in early 2014. WCL Division 6 will be held across four venues: Grainville, FB Fields, Les Quennevais and Farmer’s Field, with the final to be held at Grainville on Sunday, 28 July. This divisional event is part of the Pepsi ICC Development Programme, which provides regular playing opportunities for similar standard Associate and Affiliate Members in an international, 50-over competition structure. It provides valuable nation versus nation experience to the competing teams, while also helping the teams improve the standard of competitive cricket on the field of play.
