Short Handed Buffalo Sabres New York Islanders Player G A P Player G A P New York Islanders: Media Notes RECENT GAMES 10/12/13: NYI 2 at NSH 3 Frans Nielsen and John Tavares scored consecutive goals in the second period to take a 2-1 lead, but the New York Islanders were unable to hang on, losing 3-2 to the Saturday at Bridgestone Arena. Evgeni Nabokov made his fourth start in goal, stopping 28-of-31 shots, as the Islanders were outshot 31-16.

10/11/13: NYI 2 at CHI 3 Josh Bailey and Kyle Okposo found the back of the net in the final minute of the opening period to tie the game, but Michael Handzus broke the 2-2 tie midway through the second as the New York Islanders fell to the 3-2 Friday at United Center. Kevin Poulin made 25 saves in his first start of the season, as the Islanders suffered their first regulation loss.

The Islanders removed the “interim” label from Capuano’s title on April 12, 2011.
