Examination of Witness Witness: Ian Davies. Q1 Chair: Good morning. Welcome to this morning’s session of the Welsh Affairs Committee looking at infrastructure issues in Wales, particularly relating to port infrastructure. We have three panels this morning. We are delighted that we are joined for our first panel by Ian Davies who is head of UK port authorities for Stena. Ian, good morning. We are grateful for the time you are giving us. We always find the evidence and information that you give us very helpful. I will start the questions this morning, Mr Davies, and ask about the current state of play on trade across the Irish Sea from Welsh ports into the Republic of Ireland. When you appeared before us previously, we had seen a marked reduction in volumes of trade following the end of the Brexit transition period. -

OREGON Andrew R. Stolfi DCBS Director/Insurance Commissioner
OREGON Andrew R. Stolfi was appointed Department of Consumer and Business Services (DCBS) director in April 2020. He is also the state’s insurance commissioner. He began with the department in February 2018 as Division of Financial Regulation administrator and insurance commissioner. Previously, Stolfi spent six years in Switzerland at the International Association of Insurance Supervisors, most recently serving as chief operating officer and chief counsel. He was responsible for leading the operations, legal, communications, finance, risk management, and human resources functions. He was also a key advisor to the association's Executive Committee and served as its first communications officer. Before joining the association, Stolfi served in various senior management roles at the Illinois Department of Insurance, including acting director, chief of staff, and special counsel for policy and legislative affairs. In Illinois, he developed and managed all aspects of the department's legislative agenda and day-to-day operations. Stolfi is an active participant at the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, where he was elected twice to the Executive Committee and serves as vice chair of the Consumer Liaison Committee and Health Innovations Andrew R. Stolfi Working Group. DCBS Director/Insurance His legal background includes serving as attorney and policy analyst in the Office Commissioner of the Governor of the State of Illinois, as judicial law clerk for the Honorable Thomas E. Hoffman in the Illinois Appellate Court, First District, and as a Term of Office: Indefinite special assistant corporation counsel for the City of Chicago Law Department. Appointed: February 1, 2018 Stolfi received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Vermont and a law degree with honors from Chicago-Kent College of Law. -

Mark Drakeford AM Minister for Health and Social Services Vaughan Gething AM Deputy Minister for Health 19 January 2016 Dear Ministers, Welsh Government Draft Budget 2016-17 Thank you for attending the Health and Social Care (HSC) Committee’s meeting on 14 January 2016 to discuss the Welsh Government’s Draft Budget for 2016-17. The annex to this letter highlights the key issues identified by the Committee’s scrutiny of the Draft Budget. As with previous years, the issues raised have been labelled in accordance with the four principles of good financial scrutiny: affordability, prioritisation, value for money, and budget process. The letter will be shared with the Finance Committee to inform its overarching scrutiny of the Draft Budget. It will also be shared with the Children, Young People and Education Committee given the policy areas of common interest that fall within its remit. The HSC Committee would welcome receipt of the further information requested in the annex as soon as possible in order to inform the Assembly’s final debate on the Welsh Government’s Draft Budget 2016-17. Additional revenue allocation for NHS services (Principles: affordability; prioritisation; value for money) 01. The largest change in the 2016-17 Draft Budget for health care is a £259 million (4.0 per cent) increase in Revenue compared to the First Supplementary Budget 2015-16.1 This change comprises: an additional £200 million to support core NHS delivery; an increase of £30m for the Intermediate Care Fund, which has grown from £20 million in 2014-15 to £50 million in 2016-17; an additional £30 million for older people and mental health services. -

Inside this issue... Signposting... CWAC NAS Branch is a volunteer-led organisation. The branch relies on the support of individuals to continue our work, as we receive no funding from local or central government. 1 Website Our new website is now live and is full of information, advice and support for any families or individuals living in Cheshire West and Chester who are affected by autism, whether diagnosed or not. It is easy to navigate, so you can quickly access the information you require, from straightforward fact-finding to advice on diagnosis and details of how to contact us. Our current favourite part is the News and Events section: http://wwwnas-cheshire.org.uk/news/. This is constantly updated with our coffee evening dates, courses and conferences, but it’s not just NAS events that feature. Several of our partner organisations keep us abreast of what events they can offer too, and every time we hear of something that will interest our members, we add it to the calendar. Best of all, you can sign up to our weekly email alert service, which lets you know which events are happening each week so you need never miss out on anything. Online edition December 2020 Introduction 1 Introduction AN INTRODUCTION: WHAT WE OFFER The Richmond Branch of The National Autistic Society is a friendly parent-led group aiming to support families and autistic people in the borough. We hold coffee mornings, liaise with other groups and provide regular updates through emails and our Branch website. We are also working with our local authority and other professionals to improve access to health, social services and educational provision. Our core objectives are: Awareness, Support, Information Our present activities: Awareness and liaison. Networking and partnering with other local organisations, sharing expertise and working with them to improve services. Raising awareness and representing families and individuals affected by autism by involvement in the local authority’s implementation of the Autism Strategy, SEND plus other autism interest/pan-disability rights groups. Family and individual support. This is offered primarily via email support, plus our coffee mornings. Information. We aim to help and inform families and autistic people, and do so via: • Our Branch website. This gives details of our Branch and NAS Head Office’s activities, other groups, general activities and events, plus the online Information Pack. • The NAS Richmond Branch Information Pack. An essential guide to autism services and support. Written by local parents, the Information Pack aims to help anyone affected by autism or Asperger syndrome, including parents, carers and anyone else who provides support. -

Vaughan Gething MS Minister for Health and Social Services 22 March 2021 Dear Vaughan Food and Feed Safety and Hygiene Provisional Framework I am writing to provide you with the Committee’s conclusions, following its consideration of the Food and Feed Safety and Hygiene provisional Framework Outline Agreement. Enclosed with this letter is a short paper outlining our conclusions. This paper also includes a number of points on which we would welcome a response. I would like to thank the Welsh Government and the Food Standards Agency for the open and constructive manner with which they have responded to our scrutiny of this provisional Framework to date. In light of the limited time left to us in the current Senedd, I would be grateful for a response to this letter by 31 March 2021 if possible.
