Over the past 70 years, Gowen Field has been home to nine types of fighter aircraft. The majority of training takes place Monday through Friday with exercises mid-morning and again mid-afternoon. Typically between 2-4 aircraft are involved per exercise. This results in less than 20 minutes of audible aircraft activity per day from the Idaho Air National Guard. This is significantly less than previous F-35 proposals with 72+ jets.
