Jef Neve Sings Shakespeare Sonnets Solo
Showcase @ European Jazz Meeting Saturday 26 april 16:00 – 16:30 Borgward Saal (Hall 2 Conference Center) Too Noisy Fish Peter Vandenberghe – piano Kristof Roseeuw – double bass Teun Verbruggen – drums Too Noisy Fish is breaking new boundaries. The piano trio with double bass and drums explores in total freedom any style or inspiration: jazz, film, classic, ambient, experimental or rock. TNF, being also the rhythm section of the slightly deranged Belgian big band Flat Earth Society, is now completely on the loose. They chose The Prairie Sun Studios in Cotati, California to record their second CD ‘Fight Eat Sleep’, with Oz Fritz pushing the buttons. Oz Fritz is best known for his work as a producer for Tom Waits, but he also worked with Bill Laswell, John Zorn, Herbie Hancock, Ornette Coleman, Iggy Pop, Bob Marley and many others. The result is a no bullshit recording straight to tape: no edits, no overdubs. “Too Noisy Fish prove throughout Fight Eat Sleep to be one of the most exciting, focused, and indeed telepathic piano trios on the planet.” DAVE LYNCH, AllmUSIC.COM “My nervousness at making a record that sounded as good as the last one completely disappeared as soon as we got sounds and they started playing. I realized that the excellence of their sound came from the group itself, the technical sound just had to capture that faithfully. I never heard that piano sounds good, and it was almost as easy as just turning up the faders.” OZ FRITZ, PRAIRIE STUDIO’S, CALIFORNIA USA, 2013 www.toonoisyfish.be Contact: Jens Tytgat, Inside Jazz Management p.
