Municipality of Jæren?

Referendum April 25th 2016 th On April 25 , there will be held a referendum in Hå, and Time. The question for you as an inhabitant is if you want these three municipalities to form the municipality of Jæren. The enclosed letter of intent has been drawn up to answer some of the questions regarding what a new municipality can look like. In the letter of intent, you will find challenges, ambitions and goals for the new municipality. The agreement has been worked out by the steering committee for “nabopraten” (“the neighbor talk”) in Jæren, which has been composed of the mayor, the deputy mayor and the leader of the opposition from each municipality. minnyekommune.no (“my new municipality”) Here you can find information concerning the municipality reform and reports about the municipality of Jæren. Those that are registered in the National Registry (Folkeregisteret) as residing in Hå, Klepp or Time on January 31th 2016 have the right to vote in the referendum on April 25th. In addition, the following criteria must be met: • Norwegian citizens that have turned 16 by the end of 2016 and that are, or have been residents in . • Citizens of other Nordic countries that have turned 16 by the end of 2016, and that have been registered as residents in Norway by January 31th 2016 at the latest. • Other foreign citizens that have turned 16 by the end of 2016, and that have been registered as residents in Norway consecutively the last three years prior to the election day. You can vote in advance from March 21st up to and including April 22nd in the municipality in which you reside. It is not possible to vote in advance in other municipalities than the home municipality. You can find information about the opening hours on the municipalities’ websites. On the election day you must vote in the municipality where you are registered as a resident by January 31th 2016. Polling cards will not be issued for this election. If you are sick or disabled, you can contact your municipality and ask to be allowed to vote in advance from home. The deadline is set to April 20th.
