Banipal Live–The Reading Agency public library project promoting literary works by Arab authors in English translation

The List of 148 Titles by Arab Authors in English Translation, researched and compiled by Banipal especially for this project with financial assistance from the British Council, contains individual works by the 75 authors below with the addition of 5 collections/anthologies whose authors are not listed individually. The collections/anthologies are Unbuttoning the Violin, A Crack in the Wall: New Arab Poetry, Sardines and Oranges and Under the Naked Sky, and Banipal magazine issues. The individual authors include those who write in languages other than Arabic and are listed below in alphabetical order of family name. This list is necessarily a selection of titles available in translation, not an exhaustive list. The works include fiction, poetry, some memoirs and autobiographical novels, but no literary criticism or theory, drama or non-fiction.
