Seller Insight

Despite our search 23 years ago for a modern house with garden, we ended up with a period property that has given us all we wanted and more.

A very attractive house with masses of character, plenty of room for us both plus two teenage children, its outstanding feature was the splendid rear garden, which is not overlooked, has a wealth of plants and shrubs and a lawn big enough for a marquee. There’s also a highly productive vegetable garden, which has been not only a delight but also a rich source of both fruit and veg, not forgetting to mention the magnificent fig tree situated close to the house.

We’ve made a number of enhancements during our time here, including the creation of the garden room but perhaps the biggest change came from knocking through the old kitchen into the adjoining room to create a large kitchen diner. It’s been a well-used room both by us and our visitors.

The location is fabulous. We are members of several societies in the village, and there’s always something going on at the village and church halls. There are plenty of amenities within walking distance, including two drinking and eating establishments, as well as The Hampton Manor which is now an upmarket restaurant and hotel. The two local shops have all of the day to day essentials and there’s a post office, chemist, Sports Club and small library, Along with a primary and Junior School. It’s a very convenient place to live enjoying easy access to International Airport, the NEC, the station and the surrounding road network.

Apart from the kitchen diner we spend a lot of time in our cosy snug; our lounge still retains its open fire and upstairs we have a study in addition to four bedrooms.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our time at Hampton Ash and hope the new purchaser will be as happy as we’ve been.”*
