NOTICE UNDER SECTION 17. It is hereby notified that, in exercise of the powers conferred on the Governor by section 17 of the Nursing and Midwifery Law, 1951, His Excellency has been pleased to fix the 1st day of March, 1952, as the date upon which the said Law shall come into operation.

NOTICE UNDER SECTION 6. With reference to the Notification published under No. 545 in Supplement No. 3 to Gazette No. 3582 of the 24th October, 1951, notice is hereby given that the following land is required by the Governor for the undertaking of public utility mentioned therein :— All that area of private land situated at Palouriotissa in the District of , being plot No. 81 of the Government Survey Plan No. XXI. . .55.4.II, containing 5 donums, 2 evleks and 2,1'bo square feet or there­ abouts bounded by private property, the Leper Farm and road, belonging to Mr. Costas Pikis of Nicosia, more particularly defined as the area coloured red on the plan marked " Leper Farm " dated 1st February, 1952, deposited with the Commissioner, Nicosia. 2. Any person claiming to have any right or interest in the said lands is required within six weeks from the date of the publication of this notice to send to me a statement of his right and interest and of the evidence thereof, and of any claim made by him in respect of such right or interest. 3. The Governor is willing to treat for the acquisition of the said land. 4. A plan showing the land described above is available for inspection at my office at Nicosia.

With reference to the Notification published under No. 68 in Supplement No. 3 to the Gazette of the 13th February, 1952, notice is hereby given that the following land is required by the Governor for the undertaking of public utility mentioned .therein, that is to say, the establishment and maintenance ιοί on a better basis of an airfield and camps and other installations appurtenant thereto in or near the villages of Yerolakkos, , Engomi, Kato and Paleometokho in the District of Nicosia:— All that area of privately­owned land situated in the villages of Yerolakkos, Ayios Dhometios, Engomi, Kato Lakatamia and Paleo­ metokho, in the District of Nicosia, at the following; localities : IN YEROLAKKOS VILLAGE : " Kafkalla ", " Pervolia tou Oryvazi ", " Kamini tou Krocadji ", " Strata tou Akakiou ", " Kafkallocambos ", " Mou­ tokamino ", " Kannoures " and " Mandricadhes^' ; IN AYIOS DHO­ METIOS VILLAGE : " Ali Bey " ; IN ENGOMI VILLAGE: " Ali Bey ", " Laxia tou Kypri " and " Laxia tis Kamateris" ; IN KATO LAKATAMIA VILLAGE : " Sotira " ; and IN PALEOMETOKHO VILLAGE : " Kafkallocambos " and " Ayia ", more particularly defined as the private land comprised within the area edged red on the two plans marked " Nicosia Airfield Plan Ά'" and "Nicosia Airfield Plan 'B'", dated 15th February, 1952, and deposited with the Commissioner of Nicosia. The said area is at present used as the Nicosia Airfield, camps and other installations appurtenant thereto, and comprises two portions, one portion north and one portion south of the main Nicosia-Troodos road between the third and sixth mileposts thereof.^ The portion of the said Nicosia-Troodos road lying within the said area is excluded from the area to be acquired. 2. Any person claiming to have any right or interest in the said land is required within ten days from the date of this notice to send to me a statement of his right and interest and of the evidence thereof, and of any claim made by him in respect of such right or interest. 3. The Governor is willing to treat for the acquisition of the said land. 4. The plans showing the land described above are available for inspection at my office at Nicosia. 5. The period mentioned in paragraph 2 hereof has been abridged to ten days with the approval of His Excellency the Governor.

NOTICE BY THE COMMISSIONER OF NICOSIA AND KYRENIA. Pursuant to the provisions of section 5 of the Shop Assistants Law, read in conjunction with item 15 of the Second Schedule thereto, it is hereby declared that any shop within the Municipal limits of Kyrenia may be kept open until 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 8th, 1952, on the occasion of the visit to Kyrenia of the group of passengers on board s/s Oslofjiord.
