PALLAVI SHARDA Pallavi Sharda knows what chasing dreams is all about. At the age of three, living in suburban Melbourne in Australia, Pallavi was enthralled by the magic of Bollywood and knew she wanted to become an actor. Pallavi studied classical Indian dance (Bharatha Natyam) and contemporary dance, and performed and taught extensively as a teenager before deciding it was time to fly to India to realise her childhood dream. Pallavi has starred in a number of international and Bollywood feature films including, Tom and Jerry (2021), Sedition (2019), Hawaizaada (2017), Oscar-nominated Lion (2016), Shambhala (2016), Begum Jaan (2015), UNindian (2015), Besharam (2013), Save Your Legs (2012), Heroine (2012) and My Name is Khan (2010). Also an experienced television actor, presenter and host, Pallavi starred in television drama series Pulse (ABC Australia), making her the first Indian origin actress to be cast in a lead role on Aussie big and small screens. Pallavi’s portrayal of Dr Tanya Kalchuri was nominated for a Logie Award in the category of Best New Talent (2018) and the Casting Guild of Australia awarded her its ‘Rising Star’ award (2018). More recently, Pallavi has starred opposite Mike Vogel in US drama pilot Triangle (ABC Studios, USA) and Tom Bateman in Gurinder Chadha’s period drama Beecham House (ITV, screening in Australia on Ten). She also starred alongside Rebel Wilson and David Wenham in 10-part drama series Les Norton (ABC Australia) and in 2016 was the Indian Premier League’s (IPL) television anchor. An honours graduate from the University of Melbourne Law, Arts and Languages schools, Pallavi is an advocate for the promotion of Australia-India relations and strengthening intercultural links. As a pioneer in the realm of multicultural representation on Australian screens, Pallavi speaks widely on topics including Asia literacy, multiculturalism and women’s rights. In 2019, Pallavi was an Ambassador for the Human Rights Art and Film Festival in Melbourne. When Pallavi is not filming or performing, she takes off to a new corner of the globe, practices yoga and is always in search of good conversation and the next best flat white!
