Calls to Police

There were 223 calls for the entire Wellington Rural Beat area, with 29 police logs for the month from the beat. These included a road related issue at Buckland Hill, where a large pot hole has been reported, this was passed to the Council to deal. There was a missing person reported in West Buckland, and a further road related matter reported in Ford Street, with a tree down. There was a suspicious log generated as a vehicle was found abandoned on the Wrangway. Police seized and recovered this vehicle as no insurance was held on it. There was also an animal related log reported with a loose dog on the A38 by the Beambridge, but area tour no trace by Police. There was also a further road related issue reported with a bonfire being lit and heavy smoke being blown across the carriageway. Police attended, signage was displayed warning road users to slow down, and the landowner spoken to.

Community Speedwatch is being discussed for West Buckland and interested members of the public are being sought to become trained volunteers. Speedwatch is also being held in Ford Street, with a large amount of high end speeding recorded. Further Beat Team assistance and enforcement being discussed.
