También sirve como un prólogo para un trabajo personal mayor (que está en proce- so), un comentario acerca del libro de Apocalipsis. Por esta razón, el presente libro no pretende responder a todas las preguntas concebibles acerca de la profecía. Aquellos quienes deseen encontrar más acerca de la perspectiva presentada aquí, deberán con- sultar la bibliografía. Aunado a mi comentario, existen muchos otros trabajos de escatología en diferentes niveles de preparación, los más destacable son los del Rev. James B. Jordan (Mateo 24) y el Rev. Ray Sutton (Daniel). Muchos lectores encontrarán (eso espero) el material acerca del Jardín de Edén fascinante, así como me pasó a mí la primera vez que escuché las lecciones de Jim Jordan acerca del tema en 1977. Por eso estarán contentos de escuchar que su libro Árboles y Espinas, un estudio exhaustivo de los patrones Edénicos, está pronto a ser publicado. Recomiendo ampliamente este trabajo. Atanasio, En la Encarnación [55] 1 LA ESPER ANZA Este es un libro acerca de la esperanza. Por mucho tiempo, los Cristianos se han caracterizado por la desesperación, la derrota y el retraimiento. Por mucho tiempo, los Cristianos han prestado aten- ción a la falsa doctrina que enseña que estamos condenados al fraca- so, que los Cristianos no pueden ganar – la noción de que, hasta que Jesús regrese, los Cristianos constantemente perderán terreno con el enemigo. El futuro de la Iglesia se nos dijo, es un constante desli- zamiento a la apostasía. Algunos de nuestros líderes tristemente nos informaron que estamos viviendo en “la era laodicense” de la Iglesia (una referencia a la iglesia “tibia” de Laodicea, de la que se habla en Apocalipsis 3:14-22). Todo nuevo brote de guerra, todo incremento en las estadísticas del crimen, toda nueva evidencia de la ruptura de la familia, muchas veces era extrañamente visto como progreso, un paso más hacia la meta esperada del colapso total de la civilización, una señal de que Jesús vendría a rescatarnos en cualquier momen- to. Los proyectos de acción social eran vistos con escepticismo: mu- chas veces se asumía que cualquiera que intentara mejorar el mundo realmente no creía en la Biblia, porque la Biblia enseñaba que tales esfuerzos estaban destinados a lo fútil; como lo dijo muy bien un famoso predicador, “No pules el cobre en un barco que se hunde.” Ese dicho estaba basado en dos suposiciones: en primer lugar, que el mundo no es nada más que un “barco hundiéndose” y en segundo lugar, que cualquier programa organizado de reconstrucción Cris- tiana sería nada más que “pulir el cobre.” El evangelismo era una invitación para unirte al lado de los perdedores. 3 4 — El Paraíso Restaurado Esto estaba enraizado en dos problemas. Uno era un punto de vista falso de la Espiritualidad. La idea no bíblica de que la “espiri- tualidad” implica que el verdadero hombre “espiritual” es la persona que es una especie de ser “no-físico,” quien no se involucra con las cosas “terrenales”, quien no trabaja ni piensa mucho y quien dedica la mayor parte de su tiempo a meditar acerca de cómo preferiría estar en el cielo. Sin embargo, mientras que esté en la tierra, tiene un deber principal en la vida: Ser pisado por amor a Jesús. Desde este punto de vista, el hombre “espiritual” es un débil. Un perdedor. Pero por lo menos es un Buen Perdedor. La enseñanza de la Biblia es muy diferente. Cuando la Biblia usa el término Espiritual, generalmente está hablando del Espíritu Santo (por eso uso la E mayúscula). Ser Espiritual es ser guiado y motivado por el Espíritu Santo. Esto significa obedecer Sus órdenes como es- tán registradas en las Escrituras. El hombre Espiritual no es alguien que flota en el aire y escucha voces extrañas. El hombre Espiritual es un hombre que hace lo que dice la Biblia (Romanos 8:4-8). Por lo tanto, esto significa que se supone que nos involucremos en la vida. Dios quiere que apliquemos los estándares Cristianos por todas par- tes en todas las áreas. La espiritualidad no significa retraerse y reti- rarse de la vida, significa dominio. La confesión Cristiana básica de fe es que Jesús es Señor (Romanos 10:9-10) – Señor de todas las cosas en los cielos y en la tierra. Como Señor, ha de ser glorificado en todas las áreas (Romanos 11:36). En términos de la Espiritualidad Cristiana, en términos de los requerimientos de Dios para la acción Cristiana en cada área de la vida, no hay razón para el retraimiento.

It is dominion we are after. World conquest. That's what Christ has commissioned us to accomplish. Dominionist—Reconstructionist George Grant Some of the strongest fundamental churches still preach that Christ will return to gather national Israel unto Himself, and I say that is deception and will keep the Kingdom of God from coming to pass! Likewise, those who are waiting for Christ to catch a few people away so God can judge the world are waiting in vain! Jesus Christ has now done all He can do, and He waits at the right hand of His Father, until you and I as sons of god, become manifest and make this world His footstool. He is waiting for us to say, "Jesus, we have made the kingdoms of this world the Kingdom of our God, and we are ruling and reigning in Your world.
